🌿Excited to share our recent volunteer experience with Rebel Restoration's Seed Collection in partnership with Project Seagrass! We took part in several 'Wade and Pick' sessions at Ryde Pier to harvest seagrass seeds, which are crucial for restoring the eroded seagrass meadows around the Isle of Wight.   Did you know? Seagrass meadows can store up to 83,000 metric tons of carbon per square kilometer, which is approximately 2.8 times more carbon than terrestrial forests! 🌱 This makes them incredibly important for combating climate change and maintaining healthy marine ecosystems.   Rebel Restoration is making a significant impact with £1 million donated by Rebel Energy going into restorative projects over the next 12-18 months, including Seagrass, Rewilding, Peat Moors, Chalk streams, and afforestation.   A huge shoutout to Rebel Restoration for funding this initiative, our fantastic team of volunteers and to Project Seagrass for leading this important work. 🌊💚 Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/e9-vbmbH   #Volunteering #ClimateAction #RestoreNatureNow

At Rebel Energy UK, we firmly believe that loyal customers should have access to the same products as new customers. Recent YouGov polling supports this, with 93% of consumers stating that suppliers should not restrict their best deals to new customers, and 82% expressing they would trust their supplier less if it did. That's why we're taking the unusual step of jointly writing to the GEMA Board, urging them to reconsider the proposal to remove the requirement for suppliers to offer all tariffs to existing as well as new customers (the so-called 'ban on acquisition-only tariffs'). We're pleased that major consumer organisations, including Citizens Advice and Which? support our view. Our recent history shows the dangers of unsustainable acquisition-only deals, which contributed to the collapse of over 30 suppliers, leaving billions in costs for consumers. Removing the ban risks returning to these flawed practices, discriminating against loyal customers and undermining trust. We have always offered all our tariffs to both existing and new customers and we believe that maintaining this requirement is crucial for developing deeper, long-term relationships with our customers, which is essential for supporting the energy transition. We urge Ofgem to: ✅ Reconsider the removal of the ban. ✅ Delay any final decision until the long-term role of price protection is reviewed.
