Reaforma is thrilled to announce it has made it into Net Zero Technology Centre #TechX Cohort 6 of 2024 with 11 other innovative startups to accelerate towards clean and affordable energy! The programme injects £100,000 of funding into our technology development to bring it a step closer to market. Even more reason to be excited is to be a part of a programme supported by leading industry partners bp, Equinor Ventures, ADNOC Group and Accenture! We look forward to the 15-week programme in Aberdeen - where we the challenge begins (and not just the with the cold and rain 🥶). #sustainability startups that #inspire us (18): Reaforma   One of the toughest areas of circular economies is the construction industry. The complexities of materials that are intertwined and used in constructions makes recycling very difficult.   This is the challenge that Reaforma proposes to solve!   They help customers with carbon negative construction materials made from waste by reinventing the production of energy-intensive facades and surfaces, providing a low-impact and circular process.   The beautiful and durable materials do not require the energy intensive that other facades do, sequestering atmospheric carbon, and reduce the environmental footprint of the building industry.   Amazing, right? They say charity starts at home, and in this case Climate Action! If you're from Kingston-Upon-Thames, nearby or just want see what we're upto in the Borough come along to the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames Think Green event where I'll be on a panel with a number of Circular Economy businesses. Its facilitated by David Symons Head of Sustainability at WSP, we'll be joined by representatives from ReLondon, and together we'll be challenging the "Take-make-waste" economic model. According to a UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) 2021 report 44% of the [construction] sector’s emission can be tackled by a circular economy by 2050*! So come along and we can share real life cases about how we can breathe life into a statistic and champion circularity. Kingston council have already made big efforts to reduce emissions from its vehicles, buildings and street lighting, the council aims to be carbon neutral in its operations by 2030, while helping the the wider borough to carbon neutrality by 2038! On Tuesday I had the pleasure of representing Reaforma at the Barclays Eagle Labs Sustainability Bridge Programme Kick-off delivered by CodeBase. Funded by UK Government this 6-month programme brings us face-to-face with established corporates like Knauf Insulation, Octopus Energy and EDF (UK) keen to build relationships with startups to decarbonise the built environment! It's the first programme I've seen that brings both ends of the business journey together (startups and incumbents) to experiment and explore unchartered territories with the potential for a huge impact. Last night we celebrated the start of the Sustainability Bridge programme, delivered by CodeBase and funded by UK Government 🎉 The programme brings together startups, established businesses and industry experts who are involved in the retrofitting challenge for the built environment. Over the next six months the cohort will be discussing the critical challenges facing innovation and net zero solutions. A bit late to the party, but it's a WRAP! Last week I had the amazing opportunity to present Reaforma at the Climate Innovation Showcase in London at the Barclays HQ - Canary Wharf. This marked the grand finale of the Carbon13 Venture Launchpad (Which currently is still open for applications for 5 day! - Link in comments) - but rest assured only just the beginning of Reaforma 🌎! Have to give a big thanks to Barclays Eagle Labs who supported teams through the VL, and I genuinely look forward to working with them in the future. As a first-time founder, presenting at showcases in front 150 people is entirely new territory for me. Nevertheless doing it alongside a stellar team and of course Paul Bourne who G'd us up to channel our "Inner Elvis" - this became an experience for my personal memory book! Nicky Dee thanks for hosting such a great panel conversation and Isabelle Gough & Nick Tune it was great to be among such class founders. Big congrats to the other teams pitching, Cercula, Danu Robotics, Future Greens, Hubl Logistics Ltd, Optimise AI, Pulse, Natural Building Systems & Kestrix - inspirational stuff. Great News! We've been keeping a secret for a while and we are glad we can finally share it it you! We received Investment from Carbon13! We are thrilled to see how this will fuel our next stage of growth as Reaforma.
