Last week we launched re-universe at the Eden Project. Eden were already running a returnable cup scheme, but were seeing a high loss rate coupled with over-the-counter returns which impacted on a positive visitor experience, due to the lengthly queues at till. Seeing our work at Blenheim Palace the team at Eden turned to us to help support their existing scheme with our tech returns platform. We retro-fitted their existing cups with RFID tech and brought in returns machines, in the background we fed our tech returns platform into their appropriate systems so that front of house staff didn't have to change existing behaviour. Eden have real-time accurate data showing cups journey and inventory management via an easy to read dashboard. Customers have a positive deposit return reuse experience (just tap) and their experience of reuse flows seamlessly in with their visit to Eden. And we did it all in 4 weeks. We can't turn around every project this quickly, but when intent turns to action, and the team are as passionate about eliminating single use as Eden, change happens fast. With thanks to.... And it's a wrap! Day 1 at the Eden Project this week, and we have been working with the fabulous Complete Graphics on vinyl wrapping the returnable cup machines by Cuploop. Going live tomorrow, visitors will experience the re-universe technology as they pay for their drink and cup deposit (all in 1 transaction - no need for 2 taps or separate devices) and return the cup to the dedicated machines where the cup is validated as returned and their deposit refunded instantly.
