Our RCH Care Homes Chefs recently attended their latest professional development day, and this time the team was immersed in a chocolatier experience at Callebaut Barry Callebaut Group in Banbury, Oxfordshire. The development day was hosted by Julie Sharp and mark tilling, who delivered a fascinating presentation about chocolate, covering its origins, farming, and sustainability. We had the wonderful opportunity to taste and discuss various chocolates and their flavour profiles, exploring how the origins of the chocolate impact these characteristics. The Chefs then received hands-on training in tempering chocolate, learning improved techniques for presenting chocolate. The day concluded with recipes and demonstrations on incorporating chocolate into cooking. Oliver Clothier, our Executive Chef and visionary behind our development days, was delighted with the success of the event and the valuable skills and knowledge acquired by the team: "Every Chef who attended enjoyed how educational and inspiring the day has been and are excited for being provided the opportunity to use their newly learnt skills to enhance the offering for residents who we provide care to." Role Overview: As the Deputy General Manager (Clinical), you will play a critical role in managing and developing our clinical and care teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and service. Working closely with the General Manager, you will help implement action plans to meet the needs of our residents. In the absence of the General Manager, you will take on leadership duties, overseeing care standards and motivating the team. Qualifications and Experience: ·        Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN) with current NMC registration. ·        Previous experience in a nursing home setting is essential. ·        Evidence of continual professional development. ·        Experience in managing residents with diverse health needs. ·        Proven track record in managing safeguarding investigations and clinical risk assessments. ·        Experience in supporting newly qualified nurses through preceptorship.
