We believe in a world where no child ever has to live on the streets.
About us
Railway Children exists for children at risk of abuse and exploitation on streets and at transport hubs. Having run away or been forced to leave homes filled with poverty, violence, abuse or neglect, these children find themselves on the streets because there is nowhere else to go and no one left to turn to. But the problems they face on the streets are often far worse than what they have left behind. Every day, across the UK, India and Tanzania, we aim to reach vulnerable children as soon as they arrive on the streets, before they come to harm. After meeting their immediate needs, we then work with children to change their stories – providing the support they and their families need for as long as it takes to build the brighter future they deserve.

Today I've been on our Safeguarding Champions training along with staff from SWR rail. I wanted to experience for myself the training that we promote and deliver for the rail industry. I've done an awful lot of safeguarding training in my time and have to say that todays session delivered by our Training and Participation manager David Bentley was great. Interesting, engaging and lots to think about. Brilliant to think that the staff trained will be our eyes and ears on the rail network - recognising when young people are at risk and disrupting exploitation and county lines activity. Great job Dave! 👏🏽 Railway Children #criminalexploitation #countylines

Thank you so much to the team of 20 from bioMérieux who completed the EME Higher Than Ever Alps trek last week in aid of Railway Children. These incredible trekkers have raised £19,000 so far to support vulnerable children who are alone and at risk. ✨💚 You’re an inspiration to us all!

We're so proud to work with Northern and other rail companies, providing training for staff on how to spot the signs of young people at risk and help with early intervention. Huge well done to Northern staff!
