During construction, Gemini created approximately 1,300 union and prevailing wage jobs and contributed $463 million to Nevada’s economy. Now completed, the project is delivering clean, affordable power to Nevada. “Achieving full commercial operations marks a significant technical and financial milestone for our team. We successfully navigated challenging supply chain and inflation issues through proactive planning and collaboration to bring this project online. Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners today announces a significant expansion of its partnership with Origin Energy with contracts signed for Stage 2 of the ‘Supernode’ battery storage project in Queensland. The 250MW/4hr BESS is double the MWh size of the Stage 1 BESS project recently announced and represents another significant milestone for Quinbrook and for Queensland’s energy transition. Supernode is a unique integrated hyperscale data centre and large-scale battery storage campus strategically located next to the central node of the Queensland transmission network, near Brisbane. ⚡️Habitat Energy appointed to optimize ACCIONA Energía’s 190MW Cunningham battery in ERCOT. ⚡️ More great news from the US where we have been appointed by ACCIONA Energía to manage its 190MW/380MWh Cunningham battery in #ERCOT. 🔋 Cunningham represents one of the largest battery energy storage systems in ERCOT and we will begin operating it from June 2024, in time for the critical summer period when high demand and variable renewable generation have driven increased price volatility in recent years. Habitat is a leading global optimizer of battery storage and renewable energy assets using advanced AI powered algorithmic forecasting and trading. Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners has today closed £120 million in new debt financing for a portfolio of five synchronous condenser projects in the UK. Synchronous condensers support the UK’s transition to net-zero by providing stability to the grid which is increasingly supplied by sources of intermittent wind and solar power. Included in this portfolio financing is Quinbrook’s first synchronous condenser, located at Rassau in Wales, and four synchronous condensers located in Scotland. The financing was led by a consortium of Siemens Financial Services through Siemens Bank, NatWest and NORD/LB. Quinbrook is grateful for the strong support from both existing and new financing partners who recognise the real impact these investments provide in supporting the UK energy transition.
