Estas limitações se extendem desde a classe E que deve decidir entre comprar um medicamento ou comida até a Classe A, cujas escolhas se dividem entre um carro novo ou uma viagem ao exterior. Nossos desejos são sempre maiores que nossos bolsos e fazemos acordos internos entre o que vamos consumir ou não, baseados em nossa capacidade financeira. Existe entretanto um pequeno segmento de consumidores cujas escolhas de consumo, em 99% dos casos, não demandam a desistência de outros produtos/serviços: São os bilionários! Obviamente decisões de grande peso financeiro como comprar um iate ou uma ilha paradisíaca podem ocorrer em sua vida, mas estas são parte do 1%. Consumidores com esta capacidade financeira possuem maior disposição a pagar por produtos/serviços, pois ao realizarem decisões de consumo geralmente não estão abdicando de outras, ou seja, não existe sensação de perda .
