🚢 𝐀𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, the #PortofDover unveiled its new framework to drive national economic growth by unlocking the Port’s full potential – and our key message is clear: 𝐖𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫! 🤝 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 2050: 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 will facilitate up to £173bn p.a. worth of trade handled by the Port, in 2024 prices, an increase of 20% based on current capacity. 📈 Our CEO, Doug Bannister, says: “If you want to kickstart economic growth and drive a decade of national renewal, then prioritising Dover is essential. Our strategic location makes #Dover a key asset in fostering a strengthened trading relationship with the EU.” 🌍 Port of Dover 2050 vision not only enhances trade, it’s about 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐣𝐨𝐛𝐬, 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 🌱, and 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 through technology. 🚕✨ This morning, we were delighted to welcome the Magical Taxi Tour as it passed through the Port of Dover! 🌟 Their mission is to give sick children a break from therapy and treatment, giving them a three-day trip to Disney Paris. The tour features a convoy of licensed London taxis, accompanied by City of London Police, Gendarmerie Nationale, London Ambulance NHS Trust vehicles, and the AA, making sure the journey is as special and smooth as possible. A huge thank you to the Port of Dover Police's Delta Section, our Operations Team, Ops Responders Bernie and Lino, Coast Operative Tim, PAF, and P&O Ferries for helping guide the convoy safely through the Port. 🙌 We had the opportunity to speak with the children, parents, and volunteers about their exciting adventure to meet Mickey, Minnie, and all the Disney characters! 🎉 Wishing them all a magical time! ✨ #MagicalTaxiTour #PortOfDover #DoverCommunity

🌿 Employee Volunteering at The Fifth Trust 🌿 Last week, the Port of Dover's Communications and Marketing Team had the pleasure of spending their volunteering day at The Fifth Trust, a Kent-based charity that supports adults with learning disabilities from the age of 16. The Fifth Trust provides daycare services for around 170 students across two beautiful sites in the Elham Valley, offering a wide range of educational, practical, and creative activities tailored to each individual. Their mission is to help students build life skills and confidence, empowering them to make their own choices. The team worked in the vineyard, pruning vines to allow sunlight to reach the hidden grapes in preparation for harvest. It is rewarding to contribute to such an inspiring cause and see firsthand the incredible work The Fifth Trust does for the community.
