We are so honoured and excited to have been named a finalist in the Drapers Awards for Tech Innovator of the Year. It’s like the Oscars of fashion, so being included among such amazing technology innovators is a huge moment for us. While our technology can be applied across many industries, the fashion industry is close to our hearts. With 180 billion polybags used in fashion each year, many unfortunately end up escaping recycling systems and finding their way into nature. We’ve already seen fantastic feedback from customers who’ve integrated our technology into their polybags, and it's helping them meet their sustainability goals. Our mission has always been to stop plastic on land before it reaches the oceans. While recycling is vital, only 9% of plastic worldwide is actually recycled, and 32% escapes into nature. That’s why we offer both a Plan A and Plan B. Our solution ensures plastic can and should be recycled, but if it does escape into nature, it will return to nature in two years, leaving no microplastics behind. It’s that extra safety net we believe the world needs right now. Thanks again to Drapers for this nomination. We're really looking forward to November 13th!"

Last week, I had the privilege of being invited as expert to the 3rd edition of the Microplastics Workshop for Early Career Researchers in Idstein, Germany, which brought together over 70 young scientists from 21 countries across five continents organised by Stephan Wagner, Denise Mitrano, Karin Mattson & Andreas Gondikas Thank you for offering me the opportunity to: - lead breakout sessions on biodegradable plastics. - Share my insights in panel discussions on regulation, policy, and career development - Helping ECR on CV preparation, scientific conference presentations, and article writing - And discuss with fellow experts in the field: Thomas Mani, PhD, Helén Karlsson, Bart Koelmans, Marlene Kammerer, Pasquale Falcigno, Antonia Praetorius, Milica Velimirovic It was inspiring to see the next generation of scientists tackling complex issues like microplastic pollution with such enthusiasm and innovative thinking. And what struck me most was the workshop's emphasis on professional development. To all the ECRs I met: your passion and dedication give me hope for the future of microplastics research. Let’s stay connected and continue working towards new innovations to solve plastic pollution. Looking forward to seeing everyone at #MICRO2024 in Lanzarote next week!
