From £340k injected into cell therapy technologies, to new aviation developments, we’re really excited to share the latest updates from the #CatapultNetwork 💥 Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult and Plurify have joined forces to develop technology which improves purity of cell therapies. Having received over £340,000 funding from Innovate UK, the partnership seeks to make therapies safer, more effective, and less costly to produce 🧫 Compound Semiconductor Applications (CSA) Catapult hosted its first meet up for those working at the forefront of critical semiconductor technologies and applications within the UK. Did you see our recent announcement with Plurify on receiving over £340,000 funding from Innovate UK as part of the Transforming Medicines Manufacturing Programme. With this funding, Plurify and the CGT Catapult will develop and test a technology that removes residual cells from cell therapy products during their production, with the aim of making these therapies safer, more efficacious and less costly to produce. We are very happy to share this news about an Innovate UK grant we won as part of the Transforming Medicines Manufacturing Programme. We are very grateful for the funding that helps to build up our core R&D programs and test them with the great team at CGT Catapult. Also a big thank you to the assessors who believed in what we are doing and provided the first external expert validation of our ideas. The research is underway and we look forward to sharing the results when we can! 👨🔬👨💻

🌤🍧 🥙 A few highlights from our Summer Social for SBC occupiers! Over 300 came along, with businesses and their staff enjoying the (mostly) sunny weather, food trucks, ice creams and our new deckchairs, taking shelter under our stretch tent when the wind kicked up! 🍫 🎫 🎾To add a touch of informal networking fun, SBC hosted a treasure hunt, with questions leading teams across the Campus to claim ice cream tokens, free gym passes, and be in with a chance to win a chocolate giftbox – which went to Plurify, who managed to successfully count all of the Incubator building’s solar windows, list the Thermo Fisher Scientific vending machine temperatures, and identify the species of tree in our outdoor Plaza, amongst many more. 👒 🎩 👑 It was great to see so many businesses taking part in our Summer hat theme to raise awareness and funds for local educational charity STEMPOINT. The #Stevenage based #charity promotes widened access to #STEM for local children and encourages equal educational opportunities. Antikor Biopharma Ltd CEO, Mahendra Deonarain won the best hat title, with his golf course ⛳ themed beret. Thanks a lot to Science Creates and Innovate UK / UK Research and Innovation for supporting us as one of the inaugural cohort of the Engineering Biology accelerator program.
