Vitas Carosella at Forbes perfectly highlighted our collaboration with Arsenal F.C and Planet League for the Green Gooners Cup—the biggest ever club fan engagement campaign in professional soccer.
This three-week fan tournament encouraged Arsenal fans, known as Gooners, to make small, sustainable choices that positively impact our planet. Fans participated in over 40 actions, such as filling reusable water bottles, eating vegetarian meals, and opting for aluminum products, collectively scoring over 56,000 “green goals!”
We are incredibly proud of everything participants achieved in such a short period and are excited to continue meeting sports fans where they are in their sustainability journeys. Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/guWqp8xT
Always fun to be a part of something from start to finish, and see that work have an even bigger impact than you expected. Earlier this year we worked with Arsenal F.C and the indefatigable Tom Gribbin at Planet League to create a campaign that makes sustainable actions achievable and fun. Using Arsenal F.C's global reach we were able to bring a holistic message of sustainable actions with a focus on making aluminum a preferred choice to the world- quite literally. We touched 161 countries with the campaign and Arsenal supporters scored over 50k Green Goals as they participated in our "Green Gooners Cup".
This platform is a profound way to engage with your partners, create a fun fan experience and encourage behavior change.

How is #climatechange impacting women’s football?
That was the question asked by Spurs defender Amy James-Turner and Planet League – and answered through a far-reaching report published earlier this week.
Next Tuesday, in the Sustainability Huddle community, Amy will join us alongside Planet League’s Tom Gribbin and Sky Sports’ David Garrido to unpack the report’s finding and explore:
⚽ How much of a concern climate change is in the women’s game
⚽ What football needs to do to step up
⚽ Why influential and credible players have a massive role to play
⚽ And what work needs to be done by all football stakeholders
Come and join us!
When: Tuesday 4 June, 15:00 CET / 14:00 BST
Where: Sustainability Huddle Community
Yesterday Amy James-Turner and Planet League launched ‘Women’s Football and Climate Change: The Players’ Perspective’, a new report, outlining the concerns and practical action football can take to help the Women’s game and the Planet thrive.
When Amy joined Planet League as an Ambassador she wanted to make something new happen and this report is months of work in the making.
What is often forgotten in projects are the delicate moments. Climate change is a complex issue to discuss formally. It’s especially challenging for people who have a public profile and fear being ‘exposed’. For this to be an effective report Amy had to reach into her community of players, earn their trust and carefully get them to open up.
The results are fascinating: https://lnkd.in/e3WR6ynB
We wanted to find a way to take it to a mass audience. David Garrido at Sky Sports is a master at telling climate stories and his production with Amy and three fellow players talking openly about their experiences is remarkable. The story aired, in various formats, nine times on Sky Sports News yesterday, again demonstrating their leadership in reporting on this issue.
There is a lot in the report and we look forward to working with the football and climate community to move things forward.
A huge thanks to all the Players who supported Amy in the report, particularly Spurs coach Vicky Jepson, West Ham striker Emma Harries and Jodie Taylor ex-Arsenal F.C forward.
And thank you to Professional Footballers' Association (PFA), Maheta Molango, Sport England, Chris Boardman MBE, Tottenham Hotspur Football Club and others for their support.

Really excited to be launching Cobblers Tackle Food Waste today with Final Third in partnership with Northampton Town FC Community Trust & Planet League after being one of the successful applicants of Hubbub's Eat It Up fund.
It's been great working with Damon Fox, Lorna S. and the team at NTFC to secure the funding and get the project off the ground, and with Tom Gribbin, James Atkins at Planet League to create an innovative and gamified bespoke platform for Cobblers fans, and we're excited to see how the Northamptonshire community comes together to tackle this serious issue, which sees more than a third of all food go to waste.
A first-of-its kind campaign in the EFL.
