    We are often asked in the Plan-Apps team whether retailer events are a worthwhile investment. Challenger brands in particular are understandably reluctant about diverting their valuable marketing spend away from fully branded media, however if you are looking to drive cut through and a strong return, retailer events are a great idea. Here's why: 1️⃣ You can make your spend go much further. While you may sacrifice a bit of branding and you won't get total share of voice, by sharing the media cost with other suppliers can multiply your reach and touchpoints for the same cost as a single, solo activation. Just look at that ROI 💵 💵 2️⃣ You get to appear alongside other great, complimentary brands! Retailers understand their shoppers, and are careful and considered about who they feature side by side. This also leads to.... 3️⃣ Cross category exposure. Positioning your brand outside your category, particularly in relevant, adjacent categories, is often something money can't buy in store. You will drive enhanced penetration, incremental sales and may even recruit a whole host of new shoppers. 4️⃣ Leverage additional paid media. Often retailers will support key events, particularly seasonal ones or those aligned to national "moments" with extensive paid media campaigns. Taking part in retailer events is a great way to indirectly benefit from this. 5️⃣ Implied endorsement from the retailer - in my opinion, the biggest benefit of retailer events. Retailers have incredibly strong, trusted brands. If they are willing to put your brand up next to theirs, some of that trust and credence is bound to rub off. So, what do you think of retailer events? Based on the ROI alone they are a no brainer... but is it a bit more nuanced than that?
