The TfL Property Company

About us

For 160 years, Transport for London has kept London moving. It has been one of the city’s biggest innovators; an inventive creator and creative designer. Places for London, TfL’s new and financially independent property company, is its latest innovation. We are here to unlock more of the potential of TfL land, creating a greener, kinder and more connected London for everyone. As part of TfL we've been supporting over 1,500 businesses in stations and railway arches and on high streets. Now, as Places for London, we’re working to release more of the untapped opportunity in TfL’s property portfolio – whether it’s a disused plot in outer London or an empty arch in the city centre – to create more of the spaces that Londoners need to thrive. And we'll find new ways to partner with and celebrate the businesses we already support, as we move towards a greener and greater London. With 5,500 acres, stretching across almost every borough, TfL is already one of London’s largest landowners. At Places for London, we're on a mission to help it become one of the most impactful too.

They have been proudly offering accessible clay spaces to potters of all talents for well over a decade as well as open-access membership which offers personal shelf space and a firing allowance to help potters bring their creations to life. 🙌 Black History Month is here!     This year’s theme is ‘Reclaiming Narratives,’ and together with our colleague networks, SPACE and RACE, we're shining a long-overdue light on Black history and culture. Here at Places, we’re embracing the opportunity to correct historical inaccuracies and showcase the untold stories and the full complexity of Black heritage, past and present.     Throughout the month, we will be highlighting stories from within Places that recognise and correct the narratives of Black history and culture. We are also hosting a number of events that will challenge the perceptions that have too often overlooked the contributions and achievements of Black individuals, both in the UK and globally – part of a huge movement belatedly acknowledging and appreciating the contributions of Black people through history. Stay tuned for updates and join us as we reclaim and celebrate Black histories and narratives! #BlackHistoryMonth #BHM2024 #ReclaimingNarratives #BlackLivesMatter Black History Month UK

🗣 "Victoria station’s majestic Edwardian Arcade has been restored to its former glory" - Time Out Group plc. A little insight into the re-brand of Victoria Arcade... 👇   🏛 In revitalising and reimagining Victoria Arcade it was important to the whole team to respect and honour its heritage, this ethos was echoed while creating the supporting identity. Over 100 years old but with a new lease of life, we looked to create a sense of vibrancy and fun, remaining sympathetic to, but not overpowering the existing architecture. 🎨 The designs feature a renewed and simplified motif, derived from the original ironwork found above the Arcade entrance with a modern, clean wordmark to complement its original elegance. The wordmark initials form the basis of the graphical structures while the colour palette connects the Arcade to the Places for London brand. Victoria’s long-associated regal relationship is represented through the ‘Wisteria’ colour, a light purple, chosen as the hero. 🟪 The combination provides the perfect foil to showcase historic imagery alongside modern elements and set an inviting tone. 🤝 Big thank you to Sayhello Agency - loved working with you guys on this one. Special mentions to Emily Papworth MCIM, Daniel Quinton-Navarro, Ria Gregory and Lauren Marsh MRICS for all your hard work too. Press release ➡ https://lnkd.in/ehk4p_uu 📸 Photo credit: Andrea Seroni

⚡ We’re delighted to announce that Fastned, the award winning European ultra-rapid charging company, is our preferred new joint venture partner to roll-out new electric vehicle charging hubs, across our estate.  Across London, there are 180,000 plug-in electric cars and vans already registered in the capital. This partnership will help deliver multiple electric vehicle charging hubs across our estate, supporting the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan's commitment to achieve Net Zero carbon by 2030. These new dedicated off-street urban charging hubs will also be able to simultaneously charge multiple vehicles at high speeds, while supporting placemaking in the local areas by including retail and other facilities. The first five initial sites being delivered as part of the joint venture are located in Hanger Lane, Canning Town, Hatton Cross Tube station, Tottenham Hale and Hillingdon Circus. In parallel with the procurement process, we hope to deliver at least 25 hubs across the life of this joint venture, the first of which will open in 2026, with the potential to increase this to 65 hubs. This will help encourage high-mileage businesses such as taxi, private hire and commercial drivers, across London, to confidently make the transition to electric vehicles.
