The National Police Chiefs' Council and College of Policing have declared violence against women and girls a ‘national emergency’ following findings in their latest report: • 3,000 crimes of violence against women and girls are recorded every day • Two million women are victims of violence every year in England and Wales • These crimes have risen 37% since 2018 Andrea Simon, Executive Director of the End Violence Against Women Coalition, underscores the severity of the situation: “Violence against women and girls is one of the most pervasive human rights violations that we face." Peoplesafe's services remain unaffected and all alarms and responses are being received as normal. Despite the CrowdStrike issue that is affecting many organisations today, our service continues to run as normal thanks to our resilient systems. Since moving to our new Nexus platform, we have invested heavily in ensuring that our system has a resilient infrastructure capable of overcoming numerous potential challenges. Thankfully, this means that problems such as the one today don't impact our vital support service.
