Some amazing pupils from Burnley High School visited us last week to get to know the Hospice better before they go on to raise vital funds for our charity at the start of the new school term in September. 💛 The “Burnley High School Foundation” has been set up to provide opportunities for students, to improve community links and to work with local charities - with Pendleside being their chosen charity for 2024/25! 🥳 Assistant Head Teacher, Mr Howarth, is leading the way by taking on the Montane Lakeland 50 tomorrow! This is one of the greatest ultra-trail challenges in Europe and almost double the distance of a marathon on rough terrain with approximately 3100m of ascent! If you’d like to show him and the school your support, please visit: https://lnkd.in/eUZxzAWV Thank you so much to him and the school for supporting us! 👏

A huge thank you to Marsden Building Society for their incredible donation of over £9,000! 🩷 Thanks to Marsden Affinity Saver account holders, Pendleside has been able to benefit greatly from this initiative. This amount of money will go a long way in providing patient and family support to those living in the Burnley and Pendle areas. The Society donates 0.50% of the total average balance of all Affinity Saver accounts to the chosen charity each year. This means that the more money saved in those accounts, the more the Society will donate. If you wish to set up a savings account with Marsden Building Society, get in touch with the team today! https://lnkd.in/eY4GjWT3 A fantastic effort from everyone involved! 🙂

We're really excited to share our brand refresh with you all! 💛 With exciting projects on the horizon, including a retail shop makeover, it was the perfect time to review and refine Pendleside's branding. Many elements of our previous logo have stayed the same, due to the heartfelt connections our community has with our beloved Hospice. The familiar flower emblem has been kept to represent the uniqueness of Pendleside’s patients, service users, and their families and carers, with the heart symbol still central to the brand, embodying Pendleside's care. We've brightened up our colours and introduced of a bold, core purple colour, which revitalises the Hospice’s image, giving it a fresh and energised appearance. The new look will be rolled out on a needs-basis, and we can't wait to keep you all updated with its progress! 🙂 Our retail shops are going to look brilliant, keep an eye out on one near you! ✨ Let us know what you think in the comments below! 👇 Read more here 👉 https://lnkd.in/ei84s9uu

Today we held our annual End of Life Care Conference, in collaboration with Rossendale Hospice at Burnley College, around the theme of Spirituality ✨ It’s been such a wonderful experience for us all to share knowledge and best practices amongst health care professionals and students, within the Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale areas. Thank you so much to our sponsors, delegates, staff and volunteers for making today such a success! 😊 We hope you’ve had a great day. Thank you to our speakers, Dr Anna Macpherson, Rev. Joanne Macholc, David Melvin and former Rev. Phil Berry from Trinity Hospice, Blackpool, and Keith Pennington from Humanists UK. We also had some fantastic interactive workshops from Peter Lumsden, Sound is Therapy, Jim Allison from Burnley Buddhist Centre, Rachel Moroney & Alison Lucas, and Julia O’Neill & Jeanette Chambers. Thank you to our stall holders and supporters, Millercare Mobility Specialists, RIS Products and Lancashire & South Cumbria Social Care Training Hub, plus Mukhtar Mirza at Tesco Burnley and Burnley Leisure & Culture for your wonderful donations of bouquets and a £50 voucher. We raffled a two night get away to Whitemoor Lodge, thanks to owner Kirsty, and raised an additional £485 throughout the day, which will go towards providing patient and family care! 💛 Congrats Christine on your win, and to Aimee for winning the voucher! 👏
