We are thrilled to announce that PASH GLOBAL has signed an agreement with SNC TECHNICAL SERVICES, LLC to provide design, engineering, construction and O&M services for two carport Solar PV installations at the facilities in Camuy and Orocovis, Puerto Rico. The Puerto Rico Industrial Development Company PRIDCO, as landowner has and will continue to be an important stakeholder in this project. We're excited to share some insights from the 26th African Energy Forum 2024 (EnergyNet Ltd.) in Barcelona, where leaders, investors, and policymakers gathered to shape Africa's energy future. Here are some of our key takeaways. Would love to hear your thoughts: -Project Financing: Africa needs $200 billion annually by 2030 for electrification, with $130 billion expected from the private sector. Current contributions are much lower. -Project Risk: High investment risks due to currency reliance, inflation, debt, and unfavourable deals necessitate $30-40 billion for "de-risking." Despite these risks, Africa's infrastructure projects have the world's lowest default rates at 5.5%, according to the AfDB. -Transmission Losses: Africa experiences over 30% electricity transmission and distribution losses, compared to less than 10% in developed nations. -Battery Storage: Despite high renewable potential, the continent has less than 1 GW of installed battery storage, hindered by high costs and long development timelines. -Clean Hydrogen: Producing 1% of hydrogen via renewables requires 10 GW of electrolyzers, 20 GW of renewable electricity, and $30 billion in investment. -Oil & Gas Emissions: Emissions from oil and gas extraction and export are significant, despite low overall emissions. -Consumer Impact: Energy contract prices have risen by up to 30% from pre-COVID days, increasing power tariffs. Today, PASH GLOBAL is joining the celebration of #EarthDay2024 🌎🌿. This year’s focus is “Planet vs. Plastics" with ambitions to bring attention to the serious issues of plastic pollution for human and environmental well-being. This comes ahead of the historic United Nations global treaty aimed at tackling plastic pollution, which is expected to be finalized by the end of this year. More than 50 countries have now called for an end to plastic pollution by 2040. However, EARTHDAY.ORG, the organizers of Earth Day believes that we must fight plastic at source to prevent plastic pollution and protect the planet for future generations. EARTHDAY.ORG calls for a 60% reduction in the production of all plastic by 2040. KEY FACTS ON PLASTIC  · It's believed that more than five trillion pieces of plastic are in the world's oceans, which can take years to break down;  ·  Each year, 400 million tonnes of plastic is produced and 40% of that is single-use;  ·  More than eight million tonnes of plastic enters the world's oceans each year;  ·  Not all plastic can be recycled, either because of the way it's made or because it's too expensive or difficult to do so;  ·  Animals on land or at sea can be harmed by plastic. They can get trapped in carrier bags or food packaging or mistake plastic for food; At PASH GLOBAL we advocate environmental responsibility. We have devised a robust Environmental Policy in order to ensure we mitigate any adverse environmental impact within our organizational operations and beyond. Today PASH GLOBAL joins the celebration of the International Day of Clean Energy. Declared to be held every year on the 26th of January by the United Nations General Assembly, the day is aimed at rallying the world to new forms of clean energy production to benefit people and the planet. The chosen date is also the anniversary of founding International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) in 2009, which aims to mitigate climate change, by promoting fossil fuel reduction and significant investment in clean energy that is accessible, affordable, sustainable, and reliable. Although global renewable capacity in the power sector grew by a record 300 gigawatts last year, we must add at least another 1,000 gigawatts annually by 2030 to meet the Paris Agreement's goals, according to Irena. Renewables (excluding hydropower) met 84 per cent of net electricity demand growth last year, according to the Statistical Review of World Energy. Solar and wind recorded their largest ever increase in new-build capacity, reaching a record 12 per cent share of power generation in 2022. However, despite a strong growth in wind and solar sector, overall global energy-related greenhouse gas emissions increased (Energy Institute). By creating a day focused on clean energy, it allows both traditional and non-traditional energy players to showcase their contributions and commitments to more affordable, reliable, and sustainable modern energy systems that ultimately help to fast-track progress towards the 2030 agenda for sustainable development.
