Elvis has left the building 🎤 🕺   Over the weekend, Trecco Bay was all shook up with thousands celebrating the King of Rock “N” Roll!   Every September, thousands of Elvis fans gather at Porthcawl Beach for a unique celebration, and this year the event was hosted at our Showdome venue at Trecco Bay Holiday Park.   The annual Porthcawl Elvis Festival, now in its 20th year, brings live performances and competitions including ‘Best Festival Elvis’ which is known as one of the most prestigious Elvis Tribute Artist competitions in the world.   We loved seeing the park filled with people rocking and rolling in their rhinestones and wigs, sunglasses and jumpsuits. Every year we take part in the Marine Conservation Society’s Great British Beach Clean and this year is no different 💙     Most of the litter that ends up on the beach or in the sea begins its journey in towns, cities and villages miles away from the coastline. By organising inland litter picks as well as beach cleans, we’re limiting the litter that would eventually pollute our sea 🌊   Yesterday, team members from our office in Leeds walked three miles from the office down the canal path, collecting litter and surveying what they found.   The team collected 15kg of litter, with the most interesting finds of the day being an unopened and in date bottle of milk, a sock and a suitcase!   #ParksPeoplePlanet #MarineConservationSociety #SourcetoSea

Last week marked the end of our very first 'Best in Complex' development programme. This initiative was launched in February to help our seasonal supervisors grow and eventually step up as future Food & Beverage leaders. Tom began his journey with us six years ago at Whitley Bay, starting as a seasonal bar team member. We sponsored Greene King's annual charity event in support of Macmillan, and were delighted to host the team at our very own Fallbarrow Hall by Parkdean Resorts. The ‘Mere to Mountain’ challenge saw the group hop onto bikes to complete a 20-mile cycle from Windermere, followed by a 5-mile trek up The Old Man of Coniston, and finishing with a 2-mile kayak around the lake. A magnificent £40,000 has been raised for the charity. 🎉 A big well done to those who took part and helped raise such an immense amount of money for a fantastic charity 👏 We look forward to hosting you again sometime 💚 #ParksPeoplePlanet

Last week a team of our colleagues took part in the Mere to Mountain challenge in the beautiful Lake District, which saw them take on a gruelling 20 mile cycle, 5 mile hike and 2 mile kayak route through Windemere. There were plenty of blisters, sweat and tears – but we’re beyond pleased to share that between them they’ve raised more than £39,000 (and counting!) which will support our charity partner Macmillan Cancer Support.  Thanks to our sponsor Parkdean Resorts for providing stunning accommodation and excellent food at the Fallbarrow Hall in Windemere, to replenish and restore our weary challengers.   A big thank you and congratulations to all who took part - we hope that one week on the legs have now recovered! 💚 #MeretoMountain #Macmillan #GreeneKing #Fundraising

Gemma Davison is celebrating 15 years at Parkdean Resorts 🎉 Gemma, who has spent the last five years working in Data Administration, previously worked within the owner support team and as a customer service advisor, where she first started her journey with us in 2009. 💬 Gemma said: “I’m delighted to be celebrating 15 years with Parkdean Resorts. No day is the same, there’s always something new to learn and it’s like working with family. I’ve met amazing people who are now friends for life.
