A poll by Aldersgate Group, RenewableUK, and CPRE (The Countryside Charity) have found that of those polled, there is support for further renewable energy projects to be developed in the UK. 💷 64% support further investment into renewable energy 🗳️ 60% believe that their newly elected local MP should be an advocate for renewable energy investment and development. 👷♂️ 👷♀️ The UK needs to find an additional 400,000 workers for the renewable energy industry to meet its net-zero pledge according to a new study by PwC. Whilst around 216,000 workers could transition from oil and gas, it still leaves a shortfall of approximately 200,000 who need to be recruited and trained. One answer to this challenge lies in Graduate Apprenticeships (GAs). GAs combine work-based and academic learning, creating degree-qualified employees with skills tailored to industry needs. They are specifically designed to address critical skills gaps such as those faced by the renewable energy sector. They also allow employers to work directly with universities to customise the learning experience, ensuring that apprentices develop the exact skills and knowledge required by the industry. Degrees like these enable more women to enter the sector, naturally bringing in a more balanced and diverse workforce. GAs are also shown to support regional economic development, particularly in areas with a strong heritage in oil and gas, such as North-east Scotland. 📕 Politics has dominated headlines recently, with Labour's decisive victories over the Conservatives raising questions about economic uncertainty. The team at OXBO continue to be optimistic on the new government’s policies. Today, the Kings speech laid out several promising policies for both sides of the business:    💻 On the Tech side, this included plans for a National Wealth Fund to invest £7.3bn over five years, with a particular focus on Technology. 💷 🔋 On the green side, the establishment of Great British Energy a state-owned entity aimed at investing in renewable energy projects such as offshore wind farms and clean hydrogen technologies. 💷
