    Calling all potential Fan Community Managers We are getting asked by a lot of our clients to recommend people with experience in music marketing who can help them run their fan communities using Openstage. At the same time my DM's are full of good people who have recently lost their jobs. I would like to offer training to anyone who is interested in gaining a better understanding of a role that I think will be pivitol to all management groups moving forward.     RULE No 1 in business is KNOW YOUR CUSTOMERS Meta knows that of your followers. 3% - are ready to buy 7% - are open to buying  30% - are not quite ready to buy  60% - will never buy Wouldn’t it be great to be able to segment your fans this way? Solution = Know your fans 1. Find them 2. Use tools that help you figure out who they are, what they do and what is most important to them. 3. Let them spend what they want. From a little to a lot.     ARE YOU LEAVING TICKETS BEHIND? Our client Tide Lines aren't. They have always dreamed of playing a sell out show at Glasgow's legendary Barrowland. Using Openstage their fans told them they could do it. Against all expectations it sold out in a hour. They then asked their fans if they should do a second and third night and they said YES. One week later they have sold 6000 tickets and have 3 SOLD OUT shows. Doing second and third nights in the same location makes a massive difference to the margin on show's. Without the right kind of access to fans this opportunity would have been lost. #valueyourfans

    FANS NOT FOLLOWERS  Your followers don't care about you. They’re not your fans. While big numbers might look impressive, it's the intent-driven support that truly matters. Unlike followers who passively consume free content, fans actively engage, buy, and sign up. Quality over quantity is key. Your fan base is your foundation; invest in relationships that demonstrate genuine care. Cultivate this sticky connection, as those who genuinely care stick around and attract more like-minded fans. In an industry obsessed with low reach and high sell, prioritise the bottom of your fan funnel, where each individual relationship holds substantial value. And don’t be shy, show your casual and engaged fans how well you look after your intent driven supporters and watch them convert into super fans. We all want to be part of something bigger than ourselves, it’s part of being human. Targeting, controlling and identifying intent should guide your strategy. The real worth of your audience lies is in fans who are genuinely invested in supporting you. Focus on building a meaningful fan community and the value of your fan base will naturally rise exponentially.

    In a world where your fans are surrounded by the unrelenting noise of a hyper-congested social media, A world where content is ideally formatted to hold fans attention for only six seconds, What is the best way to engage and communicate with the ones who matter - your fans At Openstage we aim to offer a variety of tools and insights to optimise your fan engagement. Our goal is therefore to get the best results for the lowest cost. However sometimes choosing the cheapest option will cost you money and not save it. Take the power of a direct SMS to your fans which on the face of it looks 50x more expensive than sending an email.  95% of text messages are opened within the first three minutes of delivery whilst on average only 21.5% of emails are opened at all. What’s more, the click-through-rate of a SMS is statistically far higher than that of an email. With the performance of expensive dark ad campaigns in the toilet, the cost benefit of an SMS is simply incomparable. An increasing number of our clients are recognising that when they message their fans with a call to action, a much higher percentage will engage with a message via SMS rather than an email. Meaning that spending less results in less. So when Lewis Capaldi wanted his fans to help him to get to No1 in the UK his team knew that dark ads and emails were not going to cut it. He needed to identify and rally his most engaged fans towards a call to action. Using Openstage he amassed 250K fans cell numbers (with full marketing permission) in a few hours and was able to text them all with a personal video message along with direct links to the call to action he wanted them to take. The results were mesmerising, with tens of thousands of fans downloading his song on iTunes and Lewis snatching the No1 spot by a handful of sales. He rewarded some of the participating fans by phoning them directly on Openstage. Spending a fraction of what he would have spent on dark ads to achieve an amazing result. Meaning everyone won, artists, management, label and fans!!! But you don't need to have millions of fans to benefit from SMS. Some of our clients are seeing 500% to 750% return on the cost of an SMS campaign. We believe that by centralising all of your fan data and fan engagement tools into one platform we can reset the music industry in favour of artists and fans.
