**Welcome to this week’s Fruitionary Spotlight Snippets! Today, we’re highlighting ŌGI Bio, a company that got fed up with laboratory bottlenecks and decided to build equipment that did something about it. We’ve had the privilege of working with them recently, and our full-length spotlight is Coming Soon!** Biotech labs face a frustrating choice: expensive, rigid equipment or endless hours of manual work. This leads to wasted time, resources, and missed opportunities for discovery, creating a bottleneck that hinders scientific progress and puts smaller companies at a disadvantage. In a brilliant show of modularity, ŌGI Bio introduces the sleek BioReactor—a customizable system that researchers can buy in stages, adding only the components they need, like pH and oxygen measurement modules. This approach makes lab automation more accessible and adaptable, even allowing for subscription models to ensure that no startup or research team is held back by cost or inflexibility. With expanding industry adoption and a growing team, ŌGI Bio is on the cusp of reshaping how biotech research is done. Watch out for our full-length spotlight to learn more about their innovative journey. If you're interested in inquiring about their hardware, or services, please reach out to Alex McVey. If you’re a founder pushing boundaries, reach out at Fruitionary.com to be featured next!

Great to be featured by Ali Darwish and the team at Fruitionary. Our CEO Alex McVey had great fun chatting to them about all things #SynBio and how our tools are shaking up the way that #Biotechnology is done at the bench-scale!

A really interesting article from SynBioBeta highlighting the use of non-model organisms to rapidly expand the applications of #SyntheticBiology in #sustainability #HumanHealth and #Industrial applications. It includes a quote from Seemay Chou from Arcadia Science that really resonates: “Maybe the way to increase scaling ability by an order of magnitude is not to make E. coli slightly different. It could be to start from a totally different chassis that might have better ingredients for success,” Our ŌGI BioReactor is designed to provide the flexibility that is crucial in adapting current technology to growing these less well understood organisms. Over the last month or so we've been at several events where the diversity of organisms being investigated has been on show and it's been really fantastic to hear how the ŌGI BioReactor can enable innovation with complex and non-model systems. If you want to learn more than reach out at our website www.ogibio.co.uk or come and see us in person next week at the Society for Industrial Microbiology and Biotechnology's Annual Conference in #Boston. Matthew Scheier, PhD and Alex McVey will be around all week to discuss your #fermentation and #microbial culturing needs. #SyntheticBiology #EngineeringBiology #SIMB2024 MassBio https://lnkd.in/gpJ_MKKZ
