🎙 NEW PODCAST: 'Improving the UK’s Approach to Technology Development' 👉 https://lnkd.in/edvrm_3F In the latest #ReEnergise podcast episode, our Director of Technology Development, Tony Quinn, was joined by Danielle Lane, RWE's Director of Development for UK and Ireland, and Andrew Bellamy, Managing Director at LM Wind Power UK. In the past couple of months, we have seen some big news in the UK offshore wind sector focused on our approach to the industrialisation of offshore wind technology, including the much anticipated #IndustrialGrowthPlan for offshore wind, and an investment of £85.6m investment from our colleagues at UKRI to expand our testing facilities at the National Renewable Energy Centre in #Blyth. During this episode, they have a great conversation about the reality of our industry and the future possibilities we have on our doorstep. 🎧 You can also listen to the full podcast episode on: ♣ Spotify: https://lnkd.in/eYFYCefM ♦ Apple Podcasts: https://lnkd.in/eFgjzaur GE Renewable Energy | #spotify #applepodcasts #podcast #renewableenergypodcast #soundcloud #newepisodes

📽 DEMONSTRATION TIME: sees.ai had some fantastic weather while carrying out a final systems test at our Levenmouth turbine recently. Sees.ai software enables drones to fly safe, autonomous and repeatable missions, collecting high resolution images and data for digital processing and evaluation of national infrastructure. Last week, they executed an end-to-end autonomous wind turbine blade inspection mission with 100% high resolution blade imagery coverage in a single drone flight during a test campaign (which you can see in the video) to validate the software that they are developing for Marshall Futureworx. 📢 NEW REPORT: The latest report from our Floating Offshore Wind Centre of Excellence (#FOWCoE) is a critical study on the Tow to Port operations for #floatingoffshorewind turbines. As the industry prepares for the installation of large commercial Floating Offshore Wind (FOW) farms, there is a need for a better understanding of the operation and maintenance (O&M) challenges. One critical new feature of FOW farms is the disconnection of the FOW turbine (FOWT) from the array and its removal to port – referred to in this report as “tow to port” or “T2P”. This study looks to shape how the industry approaches solving T2P challenges. 🌈PRIDE IN GLASGOW 🎨 We had a fantastic workshop hosted by George Burgess at our Glasgow HQ to celebrate and learn more about the history and journey of the Pride movement. We started with an open discussion about the challenges and opportunities facing the LGBTQA community in the workplace. And then, ahead of Glasgow’s Pride March next week on 20th July, we had a chance to get creative and made Pride posters and banners. #prideintheworkplace #pride #pridemovement #lgbtqa #prideworkshop
