It felt pretty good launching multiple foundation through to leadership development programmes across our Brighton, Manchester & Birmingham Octopus Energy Services sites this week. We’re bringing career and personal development to 600 colleagues across our low carbon tech teams, opening the gateway to a world of octo-opportunities. Sophie Horner & Katie Reilly have smashed bringing this to fruition. Special thanks to David Priestley and his brilliant team supporting building performance excellence as we ready our teams for the exceptional scale of global low carbon energy technology. I’m buzzing to see these programmes start in April and run continuously for existing team mates and the huge number of people that will join us in 2024 and beyond 🐙

In the last 48hrs Octopus Energy hosted one of its largest LCT recruitment events to date! 100s of new colleagues offered positions to start their new careers helping our customers transition to low carbon technologies. Throughout the weekend, I laughed, I smiled, and was even caught by the team shedding a tear. Witnessing someone tell their family the positive news, picking up his daughter & saying “Daddy got the job” while giving her the biggest cuddle possible was a moment I won’t forget in a hurry. Another story, Niall was at the hospital at 3am supporting his partner give birth to their 1st child. He was determined to attend the event so asked if he could come at the end of the day. Of course, we said yes! By 5pm that day, he had something else to celebrate! Think we also provided the 1st baby gift - Of course, it was Constantine 🐙 The human touch witnessed time and time again was priceless! Massive thank you to everyone who made this weekend happen!
