Today marks a pivotal moment for our sector as Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Energy Secretary Ed Miliband announce a major partnership between GB Energy and The Crown Estate. This collaboration is set to unleash billions in clean power investments and propel the UK towards energy independence. As an offshore wind vessel operator, it signifies a monumental shift in our industry, increasing opportunities for supply chain companies like us as we help the developers build 20-30GW of new offshore wind capacity by 2030, enough to power nearly 20 million homes. This will increase the requirement for our high-performance hybrid SOVs and seafaring services, ensuring long-term growth for our business and contributing to a sustainable future. We are thrilled to be part of this transformative journey towards a clean energy future and ready to support new projects efficiently and effectively with our strong track record of timely delivery. https://lnkd.in/gFb7u-FY #offshorewind #jobcreation #renewables #windpower

A great visit to UK Docks Marine Services to visit the Grampian Freedom and her crew while they’re in dry dock for an intermediate survey. Thanks to Alistair Nangle for showing us around and facilitating a session to discuss offshore wind on board with both crew and cadets. We’ll post some ‘after’ pictures when she’s ready to go! #offshore #vessels #LifeAtNorthStar #drydock #errv #offshoresupport

Yesterday we marked the day, 36 years ago, when our industry was changed forever. A tragedy where 167 lost their lives. Remembering them, and continuing to commit to come together as a community to drive safety offshore is the legacy we can give to those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Thrilled to share the success of our "Women in Renewable Energy" event, held at the Royal Henley Regatta. The day celebrated the incredible contributions of women in the renewable energy sector. Our event brought together innovators, and visionaries who are contributing to shaping the future of sustainable energy. From insightful discussions to networking opportunities, it was a day filled with inspiration, empowerment, glam frocks, boat racing and champagne 😉. We are committed to making this an annual celebration, continuing to recognise and support the outstanding women in our industry. Thank you to North Star for encouraging this event and allowing us North Star ladies to run with it! And a BIG thank you to all who attended and contributed to making this event a success. We look forward to celebrating next year with even more ladies onboard! - Post by Katie-Jane Willis

Wishing our SOV Operations Director Steve Myers MBA all the best for tomorrow! A hugely deserved nomination for a Maritime Safety Award at the #offshoresafetyawards!
Tomorrow I have the absolute honour of representing North Star at the Offshore Energies UK and Step Change in Safety Offshore Safety Awards #OSA24 We've been nominated in the Maritime Safety category thanks to the hard work and effort that has gone in from all sides - supply chain and client too - to make our Dogger Bank SOVs safe, innovative and efficient. Fingers crossed for the win 🤞 but just to highlight and recognise the positives here is truly enough. #Safety #offshorewind #offshorevessels #sov #collaboration #awards #TheRiverWillRiseAgain (p.s. thanks to Ievgenii Tymchuk for the cool photo!)

Great to see one of our third engineers Thomas Johnson up on stage during one of the skills side events at #RUKGOW24. Organised by RenewableUK and Unifrog to give students a chance to get meaningful interaction with employers and find out more about the breadth of opportunities available to work in the industry. Thank you Thomas for your time sharing your thoughts and experiences with the next generation. #futureofoffshore #teamwork #careersinoffshorewind #offshorewind #lifeoffshore #greenenergy

We are very pleased to have awarded SMST Designers & Constructors a contract to deliver a gangway (Telescopic Access Bridge L2), and a 5t Motion Compensated Crane, for our latest VARD-designed hybrid-electric service operation vessel (SOV), which will be delivered to EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG’s He Dreiht wind farm in Germany’s North Sea. Our chief technology officer James Bradford, said: “Selecting the best quality SOV walk-to-work equipment is crucial for the success of offshore wind farm operations as it enhances safety, improves operational efficiency and provides resilience against weather disruptions.” Find out more about this latest collaboration here: https://lnkd.in/di7hmUa7 #offshorewind #renewables #offshoreequipment #industrycollaboration
