North Devon Council has a new leader and deputy leader as members met for the first time since the general election. Councillor David Clayton was selected as the new leader of the council at a full council meeting on Wednesday, 17 July. Councillor Clayton takes over from Councillor Ian Roome, who has stood down from the post after being elected as the Member of Parliament for North Devon earlier this month. An exciting new exhibition, featuring the work of one of Britain's most well-known artists, Joseph Mallord William Turner, is coming to the Museum of Barnstaple and North Devon. Turner in Barnstaple will showcase Barnstaple Bridge at Sunset c.1814 by J.M.W. Turner, on loan from the Tate.
