It was a pleasure to host an insight day for the pharmacy fellows at NHS London Procurement Partnership today. We heard from Jordan Cato, Michelle McCann, Jas Khambh, Denise Rosembert and Nilton Melo, among other inspiring speakers. Big thank you to Bhavika Vekeria for your help and support. What struck me the most was the importance of women championing each other. It is essential to create supportive networks where women can uplift and empower one another, especially in fields like pharmacy where coaching and mentorship are crucial. However, it is also important to acknowledge that sometimes we encounter women who, for various reasons, may not champion each other. This highlights the need for fostering a culture where support and encouragement are the norms, not the exceptions. Today’s discussions reinforced the idea that our professional growth is deeply intertwined with the personal connections we build. By actively supporting each other, we can create a more inclusive and empowering environment for everyone. Thank you to Amira Chaudry, Clare Thomson, Maria Nasim, Minna Eii, Natasha Lal, Nisha Thakrar & Summer Ibrahim for joining us today. At NHS LPP we are excited to be formalising our already close relationship with NHS England (NHSE) and collaborating on the Spend Comparison Service 2 app. To support this transition and ensure our members are well-informed and prepared, last week on 27 June we hosted an in-person "Spend comparison service 2 workshop for NHS LPP members" in conjunction with our colleagues at NHSE Central Commercial Function (CCF).   Thank you so much to everyone who came; the event was really engaging and had attendees from all five London ICBs plus Kent and Medway, and we are confident that all delegates left suitably reassured that SCS2 would meet or exceed their requirements. We are thrilled to share at NHS LPP that we have achieved the prestigious Investors in People Standard at the first attempt!   Following an external assessor interviewing 20 of our staff and a 76% engagement score on a targeted staff survey, we have been awarded the Investors in People (IiP) Standard. In particular, the report from IiP highlighted our organisation’s culture of appreciation, concerted focus on continuous improvement, and engaging staff communications.   Thank you so much to our hard-working staff who have made this result possible through their commitment to the process. This is a real achievement and positive reflection on our working culture which we don’t take for granted. We are always keen to further develop and to that end we are aspiring to reach the Silver, Gold, and Platinum standards in the coming years – work has already begun on this and how we can be even more successful.
