The National Drone Innovation Gateway (NDIG) is thrilled to be working with Milton Keynes Council for this drone project. MK Council has secured £1m funding through the government-backed Regulators’ Pioneer Fund. NDIG will be working with Milton Keynes City Council and Satellite Applications Catapult to trial, test, prove and demonstrate new drone-based services within a Smart City environment. We will be drawing from our pool of expertise from Cranfield University, Ebeni Ltd and Neuron Innovations to demonstrate new technologies, show that they are safe, secure and reliable and can assist the development of regulation in this area. This project will have several benefits to the city, including: 🌱 Reducing carbon emissions 🚑 Delivery of vital medical supplies 🚗 Reducing congestion 🫱🏼🫲🏾Creating jobs 🚨 Improved emergency response 📦 High-speed, secure parcel deliveries 🏗️ Building inspections 🚦 Traffic monitoring ⚙️ Coordinating ground and airborne automated systems NDIG is working with the council and Satellite Applications Catapult to establish testing facilities and to create a blueprint for wider adoption and deployment of drones in Milton Keynes and beyond.   #Drones #Funding #Innovation #DroneDelivery #Sustainability #CAV   https://lnkd.in/ecjMxE5d

A consortium of leading pioneers, including all three NDIG partners; Cranfield University, Ebeni Ltd and Neuron Innovations, has come together to help resolve the ‘BVLOS problem’, and to do so in an open and collaborative manner as part of Project BLUEPRINT. The integration of drones will have a wide array of benefits, including delivery of critical medical supplies, support to emergency services and local air quality monitoring.
