It was a pleasure to explain the research underlying Nanomation to politicians and expert judges at UK Parliament as part of the STEM for Britain competition finals! Nanomation CEO Teja Potocnik enjoyed presenting on how nanomaterial-based chips lead to faster, more powerful, and more efficient electronics. 💻   Learn more about Cohort 1.0: Nanomation 💻    Next up in our showcase for our first cohort of Founders at the University of Cambridge Start, is a tech start-up on a mission for the next semiconductor revolution. Nanomation provides computer-vision software to the semiconductor industry, enabling clients to manufacture with advanced nanomaterials that are otherwise not usable within industry settings.   Manufacturing semiconductors with nanomaterials (e.g. quantum emitters, nanowires, and 2D materials) improves chip power efficiency and is therefore highly appealing. However, it is currently impossible to do this at scale because nanomaterials grow randomly over substrates and conventional circuit arrays are therefore in the wrong position.  Currently resolving this requires humans to locate nanomaterials and manually design supporting electronics in a prolonged process. This locks the enormous potential value of nanomaterials behind barriers to scalability. CEO Teja Potocnik, COO Charlotte Esler, CIO Peter J. Christopher, and Chief Scientist Jack Alexander-Webber, have all joined the programme. We are so excited to announce that Nanomation won in the Female Founders category at the Wolfson Entrepreneurship Competition last weekend at Wolfson College, University of Cambridge, as well as taking second place in the overall competition, and in the Climate Tech category from a field of over 100 international submissions. We are delighted that the judges recognised Nanomation's potential to transform the semiconductor industry via faster, more powerful, and more efficient chips using nanomaterials. Thank you to Wolfson College and Wolfson Entrepreneurs Society (WES) for your support and encouragement and thank you Salonica Group for kindly sponsoring the Female Founders prize.
