22 students recently joined us on our Makers & Mentors programme for work experience that we think is better and different to the norm 🏗 👷♀️ Supported by the Mayor of London, Makers & Mentors aims to make our industry better, broader and more open. On Makers & Mentors work experience young people get to sample the diversity of paths available through our industry hands-on - taking a behind-the-hoarding tour on site, designing a home, understanding development finance. And, they get introduced to valuable self-awareness tools, get practical support with CV preparation and have daily facetime with our Exec team, sharing stories and connecting personally. Sign up for our 2025 work experience weeks here👉 https://lnkd.in/exevFTmB We think this work experience offers something unique. At our regeneration project Barnsbury in N1, we got together with 59 residents and our partners Newlon Housing Trust for a picnic, complete with magic, face painting, balloon art and of course, ice cream! 🍦✨  The picnic was the latest in our regular get togethers we’ve had at Barnsbury, from Halloween parties, coffee afternoons, upcycling workshops and walk the line hoarding tours. With Newlon Housing Trust we are always taking the time to talk with our residents, keep building strong relationships and check in. There was plenty of excitement around the future of Barnsbury, with many residents eager to join the resident steering groups and keep sharing their thoughts on the plans for the new homes and community.  Since 2022 we’ve held over 10 events and activities and we’re looking forward to more like this with the community and growing the future of Barnsbury together 👥 #residents #communities

We think estate transformation should be done differently. Do you?   We’re turning our office into a showcase of our greatest estates this afternoon, welcoming in several current residents to join returning host Matthew Syed and our guests from London's local authorities and housing associations. Sunday Times journalist Matthew Syed has shared his Rebel Ideas with us at previous Living Rooms events and influenced what we do to drive cognitive diversity as we pursue better, differently. We're looking forward to having him back on the sofa with us shortly.   #estatetransformation #communityvoices

Residents from our St John's Hill regeneration project in SW11 joined us and Peabody, for an end-of-summer garden party in the community Square. The celebration marked the installation of the final flourish of the community-led garden project with two floral planters by Chelsea Flower Show Gold Medal Winner Kate Gould, providing a floral backdrop for the party made up of Hydrangeas, Nandinas and more. Alongside the floral arrangements residents enjoyed a Caribbean BBQ, ball games, music from a DJ, and potting broad bean seeds 🌱   The garden project has brought residents together to collaborate with Chris Collins (CM COLLINS HORTICULTURE LIMITED), who has done an incredible job nurturing the resident's vision for their balconies and rooftop space, with support from Kate, creating spaces blooming with Cercis, Ajugas and more to be enjoyed 🌿 The garden project is part of plans to create vibrant, colourful community spaces at St John's Hill as we deliver Phase 3. A massive thank you to Chris Collins, Kate Gould Julie Conrad, Tunde Kusika-Taylor and Margaret Amadi for helping to bring this project to life and helping to create meaningful spaces for residents to thrive in. #BuiltInCommunity #StJohnsHill #CommunityEngagement

Memories made for the Cubitt Town Girls Group! 🎉 The Cubitt Town girls are a shining example of why investing in our local communities is important. The Cubitt Town girls’ group wasn’t just about learning basketball; it was about building confidence, forming friendships, and discovering their potential. From designing their own kits, experiencing a training session with a BC London Lions teammate, attending games at the Copperbox arena and having the unforgettable chance to shoot hoops on the court themselves, it’s been an adventure.  Watch the short film below to see their story for yourself 🌟🏀 Special thanks to Angela, Julie, Dolcie, Margaret & Maggie for supporting the Girls Group and making this all possible. The London Real Estate Forum is back this week and our teammates Sola Estefanos and Danielle Clare are ready to play their part. Sola will be joining the Social Value panel, bringing her experience from recent design consultations in Camden and all manner of resident meetings in Westminster, and advocating elevating the voice of residents in shaping new communities. She's a passionate voice for why the industry needs to consider how social value can transform all stages of development, and how things like taking the time to paint a local nursery can deliver more than just the freshened-up walls!   Danielle is the driving force behind our Makers & Mentors programme, having enticed nearly 600 students to apply for our work experience weeks with a difference and fresh from just launching our brand new industry-wide mentoring platform. At LREF she'll be meeting 34 students who are coming to learn about careers in the built environment, and bringing her expert knowledge of all things marketing and mentoring.   Fancy hearing from Sola & Dani, our industry experts? The Happy Hub on tour! 🚶♂️🌳 The final summer session at the Happy Hub was wrapped up with a nature walk for 22 attendees, including residents from our Byng Street project. We explored the river, Mill Quay docks, and ended at the beloved Mudchute Park and Farm, where families got to feed the animals — cows were a big hit! 🐄 Before the walk, we hosted a smoothie-making workshop and picnic at The Happy Hub. To thank the community, our team put together goody bags filled with surprises for the kids. 🎁 The Happy Hub was created after a Resident Steering Group meeting for The Bellamy, E14, where residents expressed to Margaret Amadi, our Resident Engagement Manager, and our partner Riverside, a desire for a community space. We're proud to fund The Happy Hub and its activities, like yoga and fitness classes.🧘 The Happy Hub isn't just a place; it's a community. A safe space where people come together, connect, and build friendships. This wouldn’t be possible without The Happy Hub team, Mount Anvil & Riverside staff who are built-in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets Community. #TheHappyHub #BuiltinCommunity

We know that strong relationships drive high performance, which means that the work we do wins when we take a moment to move and play together. Taking the field at the Korn Ferry touch rugby tournament in Richmond is becoming an annual fixture, raising money for the Princes Trust and bringing teammates together. And given we're a highly results-driven bunch...we'll be sticking to the day job of delivering for our partners and communities in London. We’ll be back Pursuing Better (scores), Differently on the field next year. 🏈 If you fancy tackling a new role in this special business, visit https://lnkd.in/e6hgDgS5 Lisa Ravenscroft Liliana Mourenza David Wishart Tom Beardmore Yuma Ishida Liam Garrett Jamie Scott Dominic Bellenger Emma Hunter Thomas Bend Gemma Davies Maggie M. The Cubitt Town Girls Group on the big screen 🎬 Our London Lions partnership benefited our partner Riverside’s residents at Byng Street over the last few years. It felt fitting to mark the journey, which took them into the Copper Box Arena guided by players from the BC London Lions team, into a collaboration performing a spoken word piece, and into new realms of self-confidence and opportunity.  So, we threw a screening party, complete with popcorn, unveiled new bespoke kits for the team and reveled in seeing the team take their new basketballs and look back on their achievements together🏀 #BuiltInCommunity #CubittTownGirlsGroup #EngagingYoungLondoners #Basketball

We teamed up with our partners at Westminster City Council and spent the day decorating for our neighbours at Newpin St. Paul’s Nursey, Church Street.  We think everyone’s job is community, and that's why more than 20 volunteers from our JV partnership, including Darragh Hurley and our Executive team, spent the day revitalising the nursey with a fresh coat of paint, building new planters to bring a touch of greenery to the front, and polishing the floors until they sparkled, all ready for the new school year. We know successful regeneration projects make a positive difference to the local communities and residents from the beginning, and we are proud to roll up our sleeves and dive into projects like this that make an impact. 🙌 Carol from Newpin let us know how grateful they are for our hard work, so a huge thank you to everyone who volunteered from Westminster City Council and MadiganGill on what turned out to be the hottest day of the year and donned painters' overalls and picked up a brush. 🖌   #BuiltInCommunity #CommunityEnagement #Volunteering
