We’re excited to announce that Elizabeth Hudson has officially become our longest-serving colleague, celebrating an amazing 54 years at our Yeadon store! Elizabeth joined us at 17 starting in the café, then moving to the Butchery Counter, and finally finding her home at the Deli Counter for over 40 years. She’s even famous for her handmade pizzas, loved by customers and Lady Morrison herself! Elizabeth’s dedication and community spirit truly embody what Morrisons is all about. As we celebrate our 125th anniversary, we’re reminded of the incredible impact our colleagues have on our customers and each other. The new store, 6,000 sq ft larger than before, offers a mix of Morrisons own brand and branded favorites, a large home and leisure range, Nutmeg clothing, a 100 seat café, and a Market Kitchen with meals made by in-store chefs. We've teamed up with Sea Forest, an Earthshot Prize finalist and leading environmental tech company, to cut greenhouse gas emissions from beef cattle. 🌱🐄 This collaboration with our Myton Food Group, owned by Morrisons, will bring SeaFeed™ a methane reducing livestock feed to help fast-track the launch of lower carbon beef products like mince, burgers, steaks, and joints by 2026. This is a significant step towards our goal of achieving net zero agriculture emissions from our directly supplied farms by 2030. Sophie Throup, Technical and Sustainability Director: "As British farming's biggest direct customer, we're in a prime position to help farmers adopt more sustainable practices swiftly." We're thrilled to work with Sea Forest's CEO, Sam Elsom, who adds: "Partnering with Morrisons is a tremendous milestone for us. ✨ This week is Armed Forces Week, and to celebrate the amazing people in the forces we have been speaking to some of our colleagues who have transitioned across to us from the military. ✨ Here is Jamie Lutas, the Engineering Manager in Deeside, talking about his transition, what he's done in his career at Morrisons and some advice for anyone currently serving: "I was a Leading Engineering Technician Marine Engineer and served for 11 years. I joined Morrisons in September 2020 as an Engineering Shift Manager before side stepping into a Reliability Engineer position, and recently I have been promoted into the Site Engineering Manager position at our Deeside Manufacturing Site. I am also heading into my final year on an Engineering Degree Scheme. My transition back into civilian life was initially quite tough but I received a lot of support from Morrisons colleagues and I felt this really helped improve my initial onboarding journey. My advice for any Armed Forces colleagues that are looking to transition soon is to reach out as early as possible, start the career chats early on as you never know what will happen. Utilise LinkedIn for events such as CTP and ongoing recruitment drives within the industry you want to go into." #ArmedForcesWeek #everyoneswelcomedandcelebrated

This week we brought together more than 500 retail leaders for our Store Manager meeting. It was a great opportunity to review the most recent customer feedback, adjust our priorities, and ensure we are doing everything necessary to serve our customers and colleagues. At Morrisons, we're proud of our Engineering Apprenticeship scheme. We have 16 sites across the UK and all of them have a dedicated Engineering Team who support and guide our Apprentices. Our Engineering Apprentices learn on-the-job at the heart of the action, gaining a full understanding of Mechanical and Electrical engineering maintenance alongside food safety, compliance and processing procedures.
