ABOUT MWMG Following a successful funding application many FREE training opportunities are arranged by MWMG for companies from digital skills, managing mental health in the workplace, leadership and management to effective stock control. In addition to supporting companies with skills and recruitment, membership provides direct access to expertise and saves valuable time and money for member companies. Other benefits include an information service to make companies aware of opportunities and support including grants, introductions to other members who have faced similar business issues, updates on current legislation, funding for training, productivity and benchmarking projects, workshops, factory visits, and network events. About us
Mid Wales Manufacturing Group was set up back in 1994 by a group of manufacturing and engineering companies with the aim of working together more closely. From this the Group has grown to over 140 members across Mid Wales. The Group is owned by the members and run by a non executive Board of Directors elected from that membership. This Board also sets the strategy and priorities ranging from working with young people to promote the opportunities available in the industry locally and the importance of STEM. We are currently working with local authorities and Welsh Government on industrial property requirements and ensuring future demand to promote growth, working together on skills and training needs, and developing local supply chains. You need to be working in the sector to be eligible for membership which starts at £50 per year. The group is a member of the Central Wales Economic Forum and sits on the Board of the Powys Regeneration Partnership, Grow Mid Wales and the Regional Learning & Skills Partnership for South West & Mid Wales. The group has a strong record of achievement and performance. Since its founding in 1994 the group has grown from being run by a Board of Directors on a part time basis to employing three highly-experienced staff. The Group is credited with founding the award winning Shared Apprentice scheme and launching 'Lean Methodologies' into Mid Wales as well as facilitating the profitable growth of many new and small businesses.
