Meet our Society Champion Kelly Capper-Parkin, a microbiologist at Sheffield Hallam University, who uses yarn and fabric to start conversations about the amazing microfilm in her local community. Through knitting, they discussed the importance of microfilm and created the Unravelling Biofilms poster, which won the Access Poster Prize in the Microbiology Society's Annual Conference 2024. Every year, we award over 500 grants to support microbiologists like Kelly thanks to publishing revenue. Publish with us and help fund more creative outreach projects like this one.
