June 20 marked World Refugee Day and the release of Mohamed Al Tayeb’s new single. To raise awareness about the humanitarian crisis in Sudan, we worked with the Sudanese artist to tell his people’s stories through a music video shot in our Amsterdam studio. Over at LBBonline - Little Black Book, discover how our Senior Creative & Art Director, Joppe Soons, assembled a team that collaborated with Dutch director Dennis Overeem and a crew with stories similar to Mohamed’s, bringing this project to life. “Mohamed wanted to bring together many themes of the experience of being a refugee. From his loneliness and desperation of finding new ground to the difficulties of fitting in with new communities, but also the warm embrace of new people,” says Soons. “Building on that, we included a key narrative element throughout the music video; the Sudanese elephant, who themselves have been forced to flee their home country of Sudan as well.” Read the full article 👇🏽
