Excited to announce the table hosts for Sessions 2 and 3 of Getting The Gig!

Due to the volume of music industry layoffs this year, I launched a music job seekers series through Measure of Music called "Getting The Gig" that allows for personalized interactions in small groups at a low cost to attendees. The first session took place on Monday, April 15th and the feedback has been 100% positive so far, including this note: "It was more personal, and it was more like 'talking with the host' than just listening to the host talking. It was also easier to open up in a smaller circle." And this note: "It was a simple format, easy to follow. It helped to know that I wasn’t alone in the pursuit of a role in the music industry." It's formatted in a way so you hear from me, but also get to talk with industry experts in small breakout groups to get advice and guidance for your job hunt and career development, plus each session ends with one on one speed networking so you can meet other folks who are in a similar situation but could also provide support, share tips with resources with, and more. If there's demand for it, I plan to run 4 sessions throughout April that will have no more than 50 people per session at a cost of $7 USD. These are closed door, not recorded sessions so if you're a job seeker, career changer, or just looking for professional development tips to further your career in music, this is for you. The next two sessions are Sunday, April 21st and Monday, April 22nd. The table hosts for these sessions have experience in licensing, marketing, data analysis, HR, publishing, career coaching, tech, partnerships and so much. Sunday table hosts: Maria Gironas, Sarah Page, Miguel Angel Bustamante and John Rough Monday table hosts: Silvia Montello, Benjamin Kahn, Melanie Rodriguez, Beverly Shih and Dina Zaarour Sign up to join in here: Sun - https://lnkd.in/ekRqX4y3 Mon - https://lnkd.in/ebZiHH2T If the cost will be a financial hardship, please drop me a DM or email me at [email protected]. If you'd like to apply to be a table host for the final session on April 29th, you can apply here: https://lnkd.in/ek5JKHTP (hosts are paid a small fee for their time) And if your company would be interested in sponsoring a session, drop me a note at [email protected].

A few weeks ago I made a post about wanting to find a way to help all of the job seekers due to the mass layoffs currently happening in music. Here's what I've come up with... Measure of Music presents "Getting The Gig". It will be a series throughout April with different experts hosting informational sessions to provide mentoring & advice to attendees, plus opportunities for networking (and if we can secure sponsors, also including a one on one mentoring/resume reviews). The cost to attendees will only be $7 USD to cover the cost of the software, pay the experts a small fee for their time and mitigate no shows since space will be limited. Registration for the workshops will open in early April. If you'd like to support, application for the industry experts to host a table is now open: https://lnkd.in/ek5JKHTP If you're a company still hiring and/or want to support job seekers, find out more at the apply link above on sponsoring or message me for more details. I'd love to be able to offer one-on-one resume/mentor sessions but can't do that without some funds. *** This first session will be completely free LinkedIn Live session to intro the series, I'll provide my tips & insights into job seeking in music such as how to find the right role for you, how to handle transferable skills and more. It will also be an open forum for job seekers to ask questions & seek advice.

This is just another post where I'm in awe of the absolutely incredibly people that have graciously agreed to speak at Measure of Music 2024 presented by Audiense! Excited to have our speaker line up complete and to welcome our keynotes: Temi Adeniji, Bruce Hamilton, YolanDa Brown OBE DL, Adetokunbo T Oyelola & Bianca Ambrosini. They'll be talking about entrepreneurship, finance, audience development, international marketing and so much more. As with every year, this year's speakers are majority-minority in gender and race from 10 countries, with a wide array of backgrounds, and represent so many aspects of the music industry. As always, I'm determined to create the change I want to see in this industry and appreciate those that want to join me. That being said... This is also a reminder that the last day to apply to be a mentor or judge for the hackathon or staff member for the conference is this Friday, February 9th. Already so overwhelmed at the amount of applications, so thank you all so much. 🙏🏿 And, the deadline to apply to be have a table at our virtual networking expo for the career fair, artist career fair, or community/non-profit booth is Friday, February 16th. It's also the deadline to apply to be the subject of the artist project or startup pitches. Every year despite almost 100 individual applications for support we always struggle to fill up on company & artist contributor slots, so get your applications in! Oh and those still hoping to snag a spot for the hackathon, that final spaces will be up this weekend (Feb 9-11). Join the 1,300 others registered and don't miss out on one of the most fun weekends in music without having to leave your couch. As Music Ally just said, "When it comes to music industry conferences, Measure of Music is one of the best: not least because the online event has always opened its doors wide to underrepresented groups in the business." Full schedule is up now. Register to attend: https://lnkd.in/etA86vAN Get involved: https://lnkd.in/e4zt_Q9e As of course, huge thank you to our sponsors: Audiense, Chartmetric, jump.global, Songkick, The Orchard, Luminate, ONErpm, The Mechanical Licensing Collective, and BandLab Technologies for making all of this possible.
