In the UK, suicide remains the leading cause of death for men under 45, and the rate of suicides among teenage girls and young women has nearly doubled in recent years. This is a complex and sensitive issue with multiple contributing factors. Suicide is not solely a mental health issue. It is influenced by a range of challenges, including: • Experiences of loss • Financial stress • Discrimination • Relationship breakdowns • Chronic pain • Abuse Often, suicide can be an impulsive act. Yet, the stigma surrounding mental health too often prevents individuals from seeking the support they need.
