We envision a world where everyone has access to the workflows needed to manufacture locally.

About us

We believe that anyone should have access to the tools needed to create. We started Mayku to make manufacturing accessible to anyone. Centralised mass manufacturing is complicated, slow, expensive, and risky. Because of this, it’s only viable for large runs. There is a huge barrier to entry for people and businesses getting started. We’re building the tools for desktop mass production. A Desktop Factory consisting of machines, materials, and software for starting production lines. We envision a world where anyone can manufacture what is needed, where it’s needed when it’s needed. We believe this is key to helping accelerate the global shift to local manufacturing.

Firmware Update: We're excited to announce some new features to the Mayku Multiplier! ✨🚀 Here's a list of what to expect... Adjustable Power: You now have the flexibility to choose the level of detail in your forms depending on your unique application requirements. Tank Pre-Charge: Our compressor now charges the tanks during the cooling process to reduce cycle time. Adjustable Pre-Charge Pressure: You have the freedom to set how much the tanks pre-charge. With a long cooling cycle, you won't have to wait for the compressor anymore. Clearer Metrics: We've replaced percentages with actual values for better understanding of the machine's operations. Material Settings Screen: Now, you can see all the material parameters we've set up for each profile on the confirmation screen before you begin forming. Let us know what you think of our latest firmware update at [email protected]. #TeamMayku #Mayku #Multiplier #FirmwareUpdate

✨NEW CONTENT FORMAT ALERT✨: Introducing: 🔔WILL IT FORM⁉️🔔 Where we (Mayku) put things in our machine (the Multiplier) and see whether they pressure form! Today's material: PVDF ◻️ (Polyvinylidene fluoride OR really slippery incredibly detailed sheet material FTW). WILL IT FORM? YES ✔️ IS IT GREAT? YES ✔️ IS IT CHEMICAL RESISTANT? ✔️ DOES IT HAVE A LOW FRICTION CO-EFFICIENT/IS IT SLIPPERY SO MATERIAL DOESN'T STICK TO IT?) ✔️ WHAT CAN I USE IT FOR? - Electronics housings ✔️ - Medical applications ✔️ - Making the worlds greatest molds ✔️ - Baking ❌ CAN IT BE 3D PRINTED? ❌ (Well, it can be but it's pretty tough without a rather expensive 3D Printer) DOES IT PICK UP DETAIL? ✔️(Wonderfully so, just look at that grid pattern) So... WILL IT FORM? 👍 (That's a yes) Any questions, just let us know in the comments. Do you have any material or objects that you would like to be featured in on WILL IT FORM?! Just let us know in the comments.

ROUND 1: Vacuum Forming VS Pressure Forming 🔔🔔🔔 FIGHT! We tried to write a really succinct explanation of this for social media but it doesn't do it justice. So instead we asked our engineer Will to explain it for us in detail: Both vacuum forming and pressure forming work in the same basic way: by creating a pressure differential across a sheet of plastic to force the plastic into a mould. Vacuum formers create a vacuum under the plastic sheet to force the plastic into the mould, whereas pressure formers use a more advanced and versatile method of creating positive pressure above the plastic sheet to force it into the mould. Vacuum formers rely on the atmosphere to force the plastic sheet down, limiting their power - the atmosphere can apply a maximum of 1kg/cm² (14.7psi) of force onto the plastic. However, pressure formers can use pressures that are significantly higher than atmospheric pressure to force the plastic down, in the case of the Multiplier, 4.1kg/cm² (60 psi). This extra force, combined with the Multiplier’s ability to heat and soften plastic sheets far beyond any vacuum former, enables the creation of more complex and detailed shapes, deeper draws, and sharper undercuts. So, there you go. Hit up the 'Learn' section on our site to find out more. #engineering #thermoforming #manufacturing

Plastic! Can't live with it, can't live without it (but we're working hard on it). Morrama design in London were tasked with reducing the amount of plastic used in monthly contact lens cases. They used the Multiplier at the prototyping stage to get rapid iterations of clear, high accuracy prototype parts for fit and user testing before committing to tooling.
