Since 2002, this event has brought our team and the financial community together for a day of unity and giving, and this year, we’re humbled to be supporting three incredible charities that are changing lives. 🌍 WeSeeHope - the foundation's main charity partner: For over a decade, WeSeeHope have been at the heart of our giving. They work tirelessly across Sub-Saharan Africa to empower vulnerable children living in isolated, impoverished communities. Through education, leadership, and entrepreneurial programmes, they equip children with the skills to change their own futures. This commitment doesn’t just stop with the children. WeSeeHope works closely with parents, guardians, and community leaders, ensuring everyone has the tools and knowledge to build a sustainable future together. 💛 🥼 In2scienceUK: STEM careers open doors to brighter futures, but many young people from disadvantaged backgrounds struggle to access these opportunities. In2ScienceUK is breaking that barrier. Their programmes, from work placements to research opportunities, provide vital experience and mentoring to help young people thrive in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and maths. Beyond job opportunities, these programmes unlock potential and drive economic stability. ⭐ 💼 LTSB: Since 2012, LTSB have worked to bridge the gap for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, helping them find meaningful careers with top firms across the UK. Their approach involves preparing both the young people and the workplaces, ensuring that potential isn’t lost and that each candidate has the support and opportunity to succeed. 🎉 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲 2024 𝐢𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠! 🎉 This year marks yet another exciting chapter in the legacy of The Mako Foundation's Dealing for Donations Day (DFDD) – this is the biggest and most anticipated fundraising event of the year amongst the Mako Trading staff!   Launched in 2002, #DFDD has raised over £4 million so far, uniting our team and the wider financial community to support our charity partners in making a real difference. On the 3rd October, we're back again with more excitement, raffles, games, and auctions, as we rally together for a day of giving and purpose. Each year, we introduce a new theme, and this time, we’ve chosen to support two incredible social-mobility charities: ▶ LTSB: Helping young people from disadvantaged backgrounds find meaningful careers across the UK.  ▶ In2scienceUK: Opening doors for underprivileged youth in STEM industries, fostering diversity and inclusion.    Last but certainly not least, we remain committed to supporting 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠-𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫, WeSeeHope, empowering vulnerable children in Sub-Saharan Africa through education, child rights, and economic opportunity programmes. Her talk, "Talking about Suicide: Ten Tools," was designed to open up vital conversations and equip our team with practical tools to #support one another. 🎉 Last week, we hosted 11 bright, first-year university students from diverse backgrounds at our London office, in collaboration with the Aleto Foundation. The day began with warm welcomes and introductions, setting the stage for an engaging and educational experience. The students plunged into the dynamic world of #trading with an interactive session that provided hands-on experience, followed by an informative Q&A about #careers in trading. After enjoying some delicious snacks during the break, the day continued with a deep dive into the #technological backbone of the trading world. Another valuable Q&A session allowed the #students to explore various tech-driven career paths. A tour of our office offered a glimpse into the day-to-day operations of a bustling financial firm. We concluded with an insightful discussion on #career opportunities in #finance, outlining next steps for those inspired to join the industry. 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐙𝐈𝐒𝐇𝐈 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞! 🎊   Mako Trading had the pleasure of partnering with ZISHI for a series of trading insight days as part of their impactful university trading programmes this summer. ZISHI shared that 40 students successfully completed the programmes, of which, 25 earned a Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Financial Trading & 15 earned a Level 7 Diploma in Applied Financial Trading!   The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many finding the experience transformative, enhancing #finance skills & fostering a sense of community.
