Helping organisations deliver world-class digital, data and technology services that make a positive impact - fast.
About us
Made Tech is on a mission to use technology to improve society - for everyone. We help organisations transform, deliver and manage world-class digital products and services. Today, you can see our services (and people!) in action, such as the design and build of the Homes for Ukraine service, delivered in 2 weeks. We’re helping local authorities make it easier and quicker for people to log housing repairs online. By digitalising access to NHS services we’re making it more accessible, such as children needing mental health support. All this great experience is enabling us to support new areas, like energy. We’re helping to drive better environmental outcomes by improving network performance through real-time asset monitoring, which means less wasted energy. We were recently named as a finalist in the Raising the Bar for Workplace Transparency Award in the Shift People Awards. This is a recognition of our many great initiatives, such as our open-access employee handbook that we launched 5 years ago. Jim Stamp, Head of Data at Made Tech knows that understanding and declaring the quality of data is crucial for both AI advancement and data sharing between departments. This focus on data quality has brought renewed attention to the need for better data management. At a recent event hosted by Government Transformation Magazine, Jim got together with other civil servants to set out how to tackle some of the challenges around data governance. The event takeaways were that to truly leverage existing data, organisations needed to: get citizen buy-in to data sharing, manage your data well, secure leadership commitment, and use AI judiciously. According to attendees at yesterday's #LGAi, many local authority projects on AI fail to gather momentum due to fears around the new tech and a lack of data and understanding of the use cases…but a strong business case can set your project up for success. Yesterday Kelly Newcomb attended The LGAi Unconference in London and had the opportunity to hear from representatives across various local authorities who had experience launching AI-centred projects within their organisation. This blog summarises their experiences and their advice to help demystify AI and build a strong business case for AI adoption within other local authorities. #AI #BusinessCase #Innovation #LocalAuthorities #DigitalTransformation https://lnkd.in/eiaMDAsq

Transparency is key in understanding how AI models interact with data. Whether it's classifying individuals or predicting outcomes, being able to explain ‘how’ you got to a decision is crucial. It’s also pretty helpful if you can articulate it in a way that other people can understand.
