We’re dedicated to delivering scalable creative technology solutions that support our clients and partners growth ambitions and value-creation efforts. Our recent work with the Scape team recently saw the launch of Meanwhile Group — a global, fully integrated platform, developing and managing residential real estate throughout the investment cycle. Meanwhile houses the Scape and Morro brands and builds on years of success including management of £7bn in gross assets and 30,000 global beds. Over the past three years we’ve delivered a series of major launches and ongoing optimisation efforts for Scape, The Bon and The Guild for Morro and now, the Meanwhile masterbrand (working alongside Made Thought and The Playground), as we continue to create stronger connections between each website and their property management systems. Our work continues to express one of Meanwhile’s central tenets — the concept of designing from the inside out — focussing on how digital products and services are used, how they can intelligently adapt to changing needs, and how we can help enhance the overall experience.

Our ongoing partnership with London Design Festival has led to a completely new digital platform that aids visibility and planning for festival attendees, whilst supporting LDF and their partners with intelligent content management. We couldn’t be happier that last year the site was recognised by The Lovie Awards, the mark of distinction for European Internet excellence in the fields of culture, technology and business, with awards chosen by members of the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences. We are proud to continue to support LDF across all of their digital properties — including sister event London Design Biennale — as their official technology partner. We measure the success of our ongoing partnership with the London Design Festival via internal efficiencies, holistic website performance, and the wider growth of the festival itself. By utilising an optimised tech stack we efficiently implemented enhancements, including improved user experience, an intuitive CMS, streamlined ticket buying, enhanced archiving, and clearer festival phasing differentiation, leading to a substantial increase in LDF's return on investment, including a 55% increase in site visitors and 60% increase in pageviews. Behind the visitor-facing site, we created a platform to effectively support the huge amount of content that would be added by different user groups, from festival organisers to partners setting up their own events pages. We’ve seen partner support requests down by 19%, with internal resourcing for content updates also down 12% in year one and 22% year two. The festival's popularity grows annually, attracting 1.1 million visits from 600,000 visitors and providing a platform for 2,500 businesses, fostering a global design community and inspiring cultural, business, diplomatic, and government leaders.

Last week was the 21st annual London Design Festival — a week of events promoting London’s creativity and drawing in leading thinkers, practitioners, retailers and educators across an unmissable celebration of design. We’ve been the technology partner to LDF since 2021, helping them rethink their digital platform and transform the user experience to mirror their status as a leader in global design innovation. We’ve streamlined the annual campaign refresh process, enabling central management of assets for easy content changes, whilst the modular content management system supports on-season and off-season needs, ensuring seamless transitions. Detailed attention to design hierarchy balances large-scale installations and smaller events, whilst new features support personalised visitor experiences, and we continue to refine the experience year-on-year. We’re proud to be a Supporter of LDF alongside other industry luminaries including Pentagram, Dezeen and this year, Barbie!

At Made by ON we focus on bridging the worlds of creativity and engineering, utilising new technologies (and sometimes, old tech in new and surprising ways) where they can most add value. As part of our exploration into this world, The State of Attention brought together participants from the worlds of design, technology and advertising exploring the rapid advancement of AI, and its unquestionable impact on all aspects of our industry. We continue to be inspired by the potential of technology to unlock new ways of seeing the world, and the ability to create experiences that inspire, engage and enhance audiences, particularly when overlaid with intelligent and personalised strategic approaches. “I truly believe tangible, personalised experiences are the key to unlocking lasting engagement that empowers individuals and nurtures a real sense of belonging” — Barry Cumberlidge, COO of Made by ON.

How do you find the nexus of fun and functional in today's ever evolving digital landscape? smlXL founder Dor Levi came to us with that very question, alongside a playful generative design system from DIA Studio illustrating scale, growth and momentum. Our solution puts the design system at the heart of the experience, creating a lightweight version of DIA’s tool with tightly defined parameters for interaction with the identity. The overall experience embeds creative impact within a utilitarian framework to emphasise smlXL’s mission, team, values and products. Utilising a series of creative skirmishes that rapidly iterated information architecture, user experience and creative technology in parallel, our process was designed to align with smlXL’s values to “stay unblocked and course correct quickly” whilst always being “fast and performant”. Since launch, smlXL have raised seed funding with a16z crypto, Greylock, and an amazing list of angels, as well as launching sim Studio, a platform for blockchain data computation, for which we also designed and built the site.

“…where technology is often viewed with scepticism and digital noise is omnipresent, it's the brands that prioritise human connection that will ultimately thrive.” — Tudinh D., CEO of Made by ON. We recently co-hosted The State of Attention with AdSapiens, an event featuring a series of panel discussions from the worlds of design, technology and advertising exploring the rapid advancement of AI, and its unquestionable impact on the world. In today's rapidly evolving digital landscape, where Gen Z’s tech habits are shifting towards “boring phones” and digital minimalism, brands must adapt their engagement strategies to prioritise authentic human connections above all else. The insightful panel discussion shed light on a crucial truth: in a world increasingly shaped by AI and automation, it's the depth and genuineness of relationships that will truly set brands apart. To forge meaningful bonds with an increasingly privacy-savvy and discerning generation of digital natives, brands must strip away the artifice and focus on transparency, empathy, and shared values. This means going beyond mere data collection and instead providing tangible, personalised experiences that enrich consumers' lives. Whether through immersive experiential marketing, exclusive rewards programmes, or user-generated content that sparks authentic dialogue, brands must create spaces where people feel valued, heard, and connected. In this brave new world it's the brands that prioritise human connection and wield AI as a tool for enhancing, rather than replacing, genuine interaction that will ultimately thrive. Thanks again to David Scott Turner, Ana Cruz, Stefan Britton, Ian Liddicoat, Jessie Allen, Chris Allan, Will Thacker and Tony Miller for your great insights, The Trampery | Certified B Corp for hosting, and Prince Yiadom for capturing the event.
