🌿🦖 Reimagining urban green spaces at the Natural History Museum. We’re proud to support the Urban Nature Project, which transforms five acres of outdoor space at the Natural History Museum into immersive, educational gardens. These “living galleries” span over 2.7 billion years of natural history and provide vital research space for biodiversity and nature recovery in urban settings. Fern, the bronze Diplodocus supported by Kusuma Trust UK, stands as a centrepiece attraction. 👉 Learn more about our role in this beautiful project: https://lnkd.in/dqUR4-Rn. #MaceConsult #UK #ProjectManagement #CostConsultancy Photos: © The Trustees of the Natural History Museum, London

🏆🎉 Double Award Win for Mace at Building Awards 2024 🏆🎉 Big success for Mace last night, as we picked up two awards at the 30th Building Magazine Awards ceremony. 🏆 We were pleased to have successfully retained our title as Major Contractor of the Year (over £500m) for another year. 🏆 The UCL Marshgate building, which we completed in 2023, was recognised as Building Magazine Project of the Year. The judges recognised the building's ‘excellent use of materials, sustainability focus, and budget-conscious completion’. These awards would not have been won without the hard work and dedication of our teams, as well as the commitment and collaborative relationship we have with our clients, supply chain, and partners. Congratulations to all involved 👏🎉 Find out more: https://lnkd.in/d2QrDyQY #MaceConstruct #BuildingAwards2024 #ContractorOfTheYear #ProjectOfTheYear

Building with nature in mind 🏞️🥬 Protecting our shared natural resources and habitats is a significant challenge for the built environment. We have a great opportunity to embed better ecological practices onto projects that can lead to positive impacts for communities and the planet. Last week, Mace colleagues Luisa Ramos Steiner, Alex Meek, Maria Coronado Mendoza and Oliver Conde travelled to Colombia to join Arup at the COP16 Biodiversity conference. Together, they discussed the intersection of circularity and biodiversity, focusing on how the Rail sector can prioritise ecological protection. Empowering futures with literacy📚✨ The Mace Foundation’s grant-giving programme supports global causes every year, focusing on empowering young people. We are proud to support Chapter One UK’s Online Reading Volunteer Programme to help transform children’s futures in East Birmingham through literacy. In 2022-23, 48% of children in Birmingham lived in poverty, and 50% of the city’s wards ranked in the top 10% for literacy need in England. This grant will fund an online reading programme benefiting over 100 children. The initiative aims to enhance literacy skills, crucial for success in school and adult life. Strong literacy supports all subjects and is essential for developing writing, communication, and negotiation skills. Additionally, this programme offers a fantastic opportunity for our colleagues to volunteer their time. #MaceGroup #MaceFoundation #GrantGiving
