Exciting news! We have been shortlisted from 800 startups for the Santander X awards. Obvs it is an incredible recognition of the work we are doing at Lumenai and our incredible team Clair Bush, David Pugh-Jones, Jesse Westgate, Kirstie Kelly, Max C., Nik Southworth, Shelby Herrington MSc MBA and Thomas Pensaert (plus our stealth advisors who we will be announcing soon) but it also it is an incredible opportunity to accelerate our growth and understanding in some incredible workshops and opportunities organised by Louise Fairleigh at Santander UK and Hamish McAlpine, Sebastián Tagle Ciudad and Fabio Bianchi from Oxentia. One such opportunity was to fireside it with Sam Jones from Gener8 who has completely transformed my approach to pitching and leadership (I am a total nerd who hates public speaking). He laid out how the medium of song and melody (without actually singing!) transforms words and meaning into an engaging and accessible performance and that (if you really think about it) any commanding presentation has its own rhythm and melody. I am now deep into playing around with the structures of verse, chorus and bridge for our upcoming pitch. What fun to turn something so intimidating into a interesting problem to solve... 😎
