Urban&Civic to acquire L&Q Estates from L&Q Group

We are delighted to announce we have achieved outline planning permission for up to 55 new homes on land south of Blackthorn Road, Ambrosden, Oxfordshire. The high-quality development will also include a pedestrian crossing, landscaping, and a children’s playground. The development will be enhancing the existing public right of way and opening up part of the site to the public for recreation space as well as providing a locally equipped playground and an area set aside for biodiversity net gain. SOLD! We’re thrilled to announce that we have completed on the sale of our site at Wilsons Lane in Coventry - situated in the heart of the 'Midlands’ Golden Triangle'. The 600,000 sq ft of commercial space was sold to Panattoni while the residential element of the site, set to include up to 73 homes, was sold to Taylor Wimpey plc. We are delighted to announce that we have handed over the day-to-day care of Shearing Park in Milton Keynes to The Parks Trust. We developed the park and the surrounding green space in Whitehouse as part of the 4,330-home masterplan, which we are delivering as master developer alongside partner Milton Keynes City Council. Shearing Park has now been adopted by The Parks Trust, making it one of 30 play areas managed by the charity. The new play area features a play fort, climbing frames, roundabout and swings, and the surrounding green space includes a multi-use games area with football goals and basketball hoops and beautifully landscape areas with benches and walkways. It was a pleasure to host HOLT PROPERTY LIMITED, Taylor Wimpey plc, Fisher German LLP, Savills, Beckland and Abbey New Homes at the Annual Home Builders Federation lunch in London on Wednesday.   It was a fantastic opportunity to catch up with other industry professionals and hear from guest speaker Alastair Campbell.

We had an insightful day at the Home Builders Federation Policy Conference in London on Wednesday, with a keynote speech from the Rt Hon Michael Gove MP and Dame Kate Barker’s reflections exactly 20 years on from her seminal, “Barker Review of Housing Supply”.   20 years on and the challenges (not just planning!) that face the industry are ever-growing and ever more complex. We’re happy to be at the forefront of meeting those challenges and facilitating the delivery of much needed new homes.

Yesterday evening we took a table at Plunkett UK's Great Big Pub Quiz! The Abingdon Arms in Beckley (a community-owned pub) was the perfect setting for a hugely enjoyable evening where BBC presenter and auctioneer, Charlie Ross, became Quizmaster for the night and had us racking our brains for the right answers! Sadly no podium positions for us but a fantastic night nevertheless with over £1,200 raised to support community run businesses in rural areas across Oxfordshire and the UK.
