Updates

  • We've gone all Sustainable this September   In 2023, we trialled Wimbledon’s first Sustainable September, with a market, sustainable fashion, some tours and children’s activities. We promoted businesses in Wimbledon who offer repair, reuse and recycling, and ensured our original eco-warriors The Wombles were given their pride of place in central Wimbledon. Well, it worked - not everything, but it created a more vibrant and sustainable town centre for everyone to enjoy.   So now it’s one year later, we are in September again, and have we got the Sustainable September bug! This year brings Sustainable fashion shows, fabulous talks, repair pop-ups, demonstrations, children’s activities, urban farm tours and our Sustainable Market on The Piazza - all of which are free! What’s more we are also trialling our first ever Kilo-sale.   We are pushing boundaries, developing a relationship between businesses and visitors by creating a speaker programme covering subjects such as Sustainability in the Community, Sustainable Fashion and Sustainable Beauty. All of this takes place in the heart of Wimbledon Quarter, where Romulus’s revamp of the former shopping centre into a mixed-purpose space has created a seriously sustainable and inclusive destination.   Our Sustainable September programme is about building confidence with our high street businesses on the subject of ‘sustainability’, and about working together to reduce, reuse, and repair, with a longer term goal of creating better circularity. We are seeing our repairers thrive here, sitting comfortably with our long-established shops as added value, enabling a high street where service is as important as product.   None of this would have happened without the extraordinary collaboration with local businesses from start-ups to property owners for Sustainable September, who share our passion for these events. Special mentions have to go to: Wimbledon Quarter, Go Inspire International C.I.C, Elys, Royal Trinity Hospice, LUSH, Roxie Steak, Sustainable Merton, re-runn, Time & Leisure Magazine, Goldsmith Vintage, Gina Conway, Datsit, Little A.R.K, and Is It Dani Dawks.   So, if you are in the Wimbledon area this September, do check out our events and our website and come and say hello!

  • As our campaign with Creates UK on Instagram gathers momentum, our business reels have seen over 17,000 plays to date and growing. With some of them reaching 70% non-followers we are establishing connectivity with new audiences and continue our focus on the people who work at our Wimbledon businesses.   Here’s Tampopo where ‘FIRST DATES’ was apparently filmed just the other day… Definitely worth a visit!   Thank you to Creates UK

  • We've just launched our new Instagram campaign, created by Creates UK celebrating some of the people behind Wimbledon's hospitality businesses - starting with The Golf Groove in Wimbledon Quarter, SW London’s first and the UK’s largest indoor golf experience. "Even if you’re not into golf, The Golf Groove has plenty to offer with fun social games. It’s a great night out with more than just drinks—there’s a cool bar & lounge where you can grab a bite, watch live sports, or hang out on their outdoor terrace. Featuring: 👨👩👧👦 Family friendly games ⛳️ 10 Golf bays 🏌️♀️ Swing and Sip: 90 Minutes of unlimited drinks 🍹Happy Hour: M-F 5pm-7pm 📍Top Floor, Wimbledon Quarter, SW19 8YA" #lovewimbledon #goingoutthisfriday #wimbledon #thingstodolondon #goingoutwimbledon #london #bankholiday #TheGolfGroove #instagram #business #promotion
