Havering is celebrating the creation of five village greens in the borough over the summer. Today's was at Wennington, two year's after the devastating fires that ripped through the village. Village green status means the green in the heart of the village is protected, in perpetuity, for all future generations. Councillor Morgon, Leader of Havering Council, said: “Safeguarding the green for future generations as a vital community asset was a manifesto promise we made and have now kept. “I hope that this will go a long way to helping Wennington residents hold on to the incredible community spirit that I see in the village, which has grown even stronger since the fires two years ago.” For further information about the upcoming dedications at Hitchin Close, Gooshays Green and Dover's Way, please visit https://orlo.uk/a7Von
