#NewData ➡ our analysis reveals 150 neighbourhoods in London with the greatest need for life-saving defibrillators. Households in deprived areas are more likely to be in one of these neighbourhoods. Our Chief Executive Daniel Elkeles said: “Our new data is a sad reminder that where you live or work could determine your chances of surviving a #CardiacArrest”. Survival rates are over 50 per cent if a defibrillator is used before paramedics arrive. Everyone can learn CPR and what to do in an emergency. This week we welcomed Education Minister Jacqui Smith and MP for West Ham & Beckton James Asser to our state-of-the-art #education and #controlroom facilities in #Newham. They learnt about our award-winning #apprenticeship programme, observing practical #assessments and our purpose-built training equipment. Our #clinicians are increasingly highly skilled and doing more and more for patients as we continue the shift from the traditional safe transportation service to a mobile clinical service that treats more people on scene, and over the phone.

We have an active Armed Forces Network bringing lived experience to help us shape how we support and embrace Armed Forces Communities. Our #LASFest careers festival was a great opportunity to inspire the next generation of #TeamLAS lifesavers with live ambulance simulations, CPR training, careers advice and a chance to meet our teams. We trained over 220 new #LondonLifesavers with CPR training and supported hundreds of people with more from local communities in London with their final steps before applying to joining our Service.
