Borough Market becomes a Living Hours Employer! 👏 Already a committed Living Wage Employer, we were delighted to celebrate Borough Market also becoming an accredited Living Hours Employer this week at the Living Bankside reception at Borough Market, a commitment which will ensure secure working hours and shift patterns. The event also celebrated the Living Wage accredited businesses at Borough Market and all those involved in achieving this remarkable milestone. We were delighted to host February’s ‘Living Bankside @‘ reception with our friends Bankside Hotel. We are grateful for their hospitality! At the event we celebrated and recognised Bankside Hotel’s commitment to the local community and discovered its unique character that arises from its eclectic artwork. It was great to have an array of beautifully designed masks on display as part of the Mardi Gras celebrations - curated by local community champion Hannah Metcalfe and created by members of the Mental Healh Group at Blackfriars Settlement. It’s been running for several years and we look forward to featuring it as part of our events on an annual basis! We reflected on the Leap Year and are grateful to all those who answered our call to action by volunteering their additional time to supporting Living Bankside’s work. In keeping with the venue and local history relating to hat making and the Mad Hatter, we had our own local hat maker. It was great to have Maddie the hatter from Hurtence and her wonderful collection of hats. Thank you to the dozens that took part in our friendly competition of the best accessory. The event was filled with quirky and exciting bow ties, Kravats, scarfs and hats. Congratulations to Sam Bompas on winning complimentary drinks at Bankside Hotel for donning the best bow tie/outfit. As always we were delighted to have the Deputy Mayor of Southwark Naima Ali and past Mayor’s of Southwark with us. We look forward to continuing our work with Bankside Hotel to support people in Bankside, SE1, Southwark and beyond! Keep your eyes peeled about our upcoming projects and initiatives together! #bankside #se1 #community #southwark #london
