To celebrate South Asian Heritage Month, we were delighted to host author and Linklaters' very own Iqbal Hussain, who was interviewed by Partner Raza Naeem. During the session, Iqbal shared stories and reflections about his debut novel, Northern Boy. The theme for the month is 'Free to Be Me', and Iqbal’s novel is an emotionally charged coming-of-age story that delves into themes of identity, belonging, family dynamics, and a Bollywood dream. This transaction represents one of the largest structured capital investments in the Middle East and showcases the strength of Linklaters’ experience advising financial sponsor investors providing highly structured and bespoke capital solutions, which have emerged as an increasingly important alternative financing solution for businesses in recent times. 📢 A team led by Simon Few (partner) and Andrew Chaplin (counsel), together with Joshua Rioda (associate) has advised Goldman Sachs Bank Europe SE as a Global Coordinator and JLM and LHV Bank as a JLM on the offering of a €400m perpetual green hybrid bond by Eesti Energia, the Estonian government-owned energy company. The proceeds will be used to finance eligible green projects which, according to the company’s Green Finance Framework, encompass investments in the transmission network and installation of charging stations for electric vehicles connected to the Estonian grid.   This is the first ever hybrid bond issued in the Baltics and in CEE (excluding real estate) to be offered internationally and listed on the London Stock Exchange.
