Lexus has announced Lexus Hull and Lexus Ipswich as winners of its 2024 Kiwami Awards, honours that are bestowed on the top-performing centres across its European region. This year, 17 retailers have been recognised for both their business achievements and an exceptional level of customer service that delivers uniquely Lexus omotenashi hospitality. In essence, this treats every customer with the care and attention to detail that would be extended to a guest in the home, reinforcing the Lexus principle of “making luxury personal”. Pascal Ruch, Toyota Motor Europe Vice President for Lexus, commented: “This is an exciting time for our retailers as we work with them on our programme for future electrified models and maximising the opportunities offered by digitalisation. At the same, we are maintaining our human-centred approach, ensuring that we give our customers a great experience, whether they are visiting our centres in person or through our digital channels. “My congratulations go to this year’s winners, each of whom has attained exceptional levels of business performance and service.” The Kiwami (“outstanding excellence”) Awards were introduced in 2016 and this year more than 340 official Lexus retailers were eligible for consideration across Europe. This year’s winners were rewarded with a four-day event in Norway, including electrification fact-finding and best practice sharing, a gala dinner and opportunities to enjoy spectacular landscapes with hiking and fjord expeditions. The Lexus NX has maintained its supremacy in one of the most competitive parts of the car market, crowned Mid-size Premium SUV of the Year for a third year in succession in the Auto Express New Car Awards. Announcing the NX’s latest success at a presentation ceremony in London yesterday evening, Paul Barker, Auto Express Editor, said: “Lexus really pulled a blinder with the new NX, which is why it once again tops its category. The cabin is typically Lexus in its plushness, but it’s a mix of ride and handling plus smooth and frugal hybrid technology that helps the NX make its mark at the top of a very competitive class.” The NX set the standards for a new generation of Lexus cars when the current model was introduced in 2022, presenting a new design approach and offering the choice of two efficient electrified powertrains – the self-charging NX 350h hybrid and the plug-in hybrid NX 450h . The latter benefits from the company’s long-established expertise in electrification technologies: when battery charge is depleted, the vehicle switches seamlessly to operate as a self-charging hybrid.
