Another great day - thank you to all who came along from Norton Rose Fulbright and got stuck in with such good cheer!

We planted a holly tree -- which we called Norton -- with the Norton Rose Fulbright Team! I thought that was a cute detail of the volunteer day… A sincere pleasure to host Norton Rose Fulbright’s (NRF) volunteer gardening volunteer day. We beautified a playground, a short walk from their More London offices in the Tower Bridge area. We made so much progress in a day! From pruning roses into goblet shapes, laying down mulch to suppress weeds and preserve the soil’s moisture, to saving sickly bushes, designing out a new planting plan for the long border, and creating the start of a children’s hopscotch path and woodland-feel garden! So much done. This list could go on, but nobody would read it. A real pleasure to host the team so thank you to George Hairs, Emmanuel Alabi, Wihyuk Wil Kim, Rachel L., Michael Knapper, Giulia Barbone, Oliver K., and Olivia Wint - really a good lovely day meeting you all. An extra thanks always goes out to the person who showed the most interest in horticulture, our Green Thumb Award, and I think it has to be shared by Dipti Fatania and Timothy Jenkins! Lastly, no small share of the credit belongs to Natasha Gada for helping to organise the day and ensuring ran smoothly on the Norton end. #communitygardening #csr #corporatevolunteering #towerbridge #gardening #playground #nortonrosefulbright #VolunTeams

🌱🌍 Embracing the spirit of #EarthDay with #IonGroup! 🌍🌱 To mark Earth Day, we joined hands with the amazing team at Ion Group for a heartwarming day of celebrating the beauty of urban nature. Together, we dove into the community garden of a London Bridge based block of sheltered housing, rolling up our sleeves and planting seeds of hope and renewal. But that's not all – we had the usual fun and games of meeting and bonding with the incredible residents of sheltered housing. From dividing plants to taming those pesky invasive weeds, every moment was filled with purpose and positivity. As we adorned the garden with bursts of vibrant colors, we got excited for the lush Summer days ahead. A massive shoutout to everyone who lent a hand and made this day truly special. #IonGroupCares #CommunityGardening #PlantingHope #LeavesBreathe

We're breathing life back into the community garden of an elderly and sheltered housing block in Central London! Thank you to the PR & Comms team at Finastra who made it all possible! We had a fun day and got *so* much done. A sincere thank you to our team of green-thumbed volunteers - Caroline Duff (née Beer), Jonathan Evans, Sofia Romano, Jumal N., and Caitlin Anthony. Thank you to our shortlist for the highly coveted Golden Glove award for the greenest-thumb- to Karen Quinn, Bianca Ene, and our ultimate winner, Rebecca Edwards! A special thank you to John Paul Thurburn for helping to organise the day. Corporate volunteer days like this have an immediate and long-lasting effect. It is great to see the change in a day, and to hear the residents thank the volunteers for "saving" their gardens and helping them with the heavy work they can't always manage on their own. The days also create a sense of joy and pride in the area - and it welcomes people in to come and use the green space. For all you've done and with good cheer - thank you Finastra! I really enjoyed our volunteering day together. . . . . . #finastra #esg #csrinitiatives #csr #gardening #corporatevolunteering #volunteeropportunity

Excited to be supporting Boston Manor Park. It's a beautiful London green space. If you've not been, go!

New partnership with Boston Manor Park in West London. Home to London's biggest cedar Tree of Lebanon. And base for the very knowledgeable and welcoming Head Gardener Vanessa. We're excited to be taking teams of corporate volunteers to Boston Manor Park later this year to celebrate #EarthDay! Boston Manor Park is loved by the local residents for its various and changeable landscapes; formal lawns by Boston Manor House; the wild woods and canals; the long sweep of the formal pond; the respite of the walled garden. We will be doing a mix of conservation and horticultural work. For conservation, we will be building dead hedges (out of logs) to encourage wildlife, mulching over large areas, and creating a new planting terrace from scratch in the ornamental lake. For the gardeners, we’ll be planting new bulbs and perennials in the meadow, dead-heading flowers, and planting up a border of the walled garden. . . . . . #csr #BostonManorPark #corporatevolunteering #esg #london

It’s easy to feel blue this Monday.* To feel like the tree will never get its leaves back. At Leaves Breathe we’re ~trying~ to go with the seasons. Today, as the world recognizes #BlueMonday*, I wanted to share a little reminder that seasons change, but the warmth of summer is never truly lost. (But yes, we're feeling it too.) I’ve merged two photos below: 1.      Taken just now from the train, of a baren tree by Peckham Rye station on a very grey day. 2.      Day 2 of last September’s heatwave. We ran a corporate volunteer team creating the foundations of a new community garden. This means slowing down, nurturing our projects, and saving some energy for the blooming and sun of Spring. Part of that is to remember how crucial it is to practice self-care and give ourselves the rest we deserve. We’re having a couple of four-day weeks across Jan-Feb, knowing we’ll be going at full pelt in Summer. And that tree isn’t baren. It’s putting stores of energy into its roots, look closer and you’ll see buds forming in sheathed, protected layers – promising beautiful greenery to be revealed in the months ahead. Just as nature slows down and rejuvenates during the colder months, it's okay for us to do the same. Let's be kind to ourselves, acknowledging that we, too, go through seasons of change. Take this time to reflect, recharge, and nurture your spirit. We’re putting energy into our organisational roots (website, sales, new garden partnerships), to prepare for that later spurt of grow. Remember, the beauty of life lies not just in the sunny days but also in the quiet, introspective moments. We too, have been going inward, taking a moment to change gear and have long days planning for the year ahead. So, here's to going with the flow, embracing the present, and looking forward to the warmth that lies ahead. Wishing you all a peaceful and restful week. *BlueMonday was invented by a UK Travel company to sell holidays – don’t fall for it!  #BlueMondayMotivation #SelfCare #EmbraceChange #SeasonsOfLife
