We thoroughly enjoyed attending the recent Southwark Career Fair! Thanks to our occupiers and partners for being part of this initiative, especially Howard Kennedy LLP, Fitness First UK, Stonewest Ltd, and Smart Managed Solutions. Members of the London Bridge City and CIS Security Limited team recently completed the transformative Face Whisperer training from Adrianne Carter. Face Whisperer training delves into understanding human micro facial expressions, allowing us to grasp a deeper insight into people's emotions and thoughts. This invaluable skill helps us foster a more creative and understanding team culture, aligning perfectly with our ambitions for innovative management and responsible stewardship. Additionally, this training provides an essential skill set for our team, particularly benefiting our Mental Health First Aiders. Yesterday, we hosted our exclusive occupier talk, "Overcoming Fear with Dawn O'Porter," and it was a resounding success! Dawn captivated the audience with her powerful insights on transforming fear into growth, drawing from her personal and professional experiences, and her journey co-founding the global refugee charity Choose Love. The intimate and inspiring session concluded with an engaging Q&A, where attendees had the opportunity to delve deeper into Dawn's experiences and wisdom. In honour of Armed Forces Day, we proudly raised the Armed Forces Day flag yesterday outside the Cottons Centre Riverside on the Queen's Walk. Armed Forces Day in the United Kingdom is an annual event celebrated in late June to honour all those who serve in the British Armed Forces. This year, it falls on Saturday, June 29, 2024. We will be flying the flag for the entire week to show our support and respect. The International Rescue Committee are commemorating 90 years of humanitarian work, whilst raising awareness of how the present climate crisis is impacting millions of people globally, with their new exhibition 'Climate Changed My Home'. The exhibition is in place in time for National Refugee Week (17 - 23 June 2024), showcasing stories from across the world that capture the extraordinary challenges caused by increasingly devastating climate disasters, and how the charity helps those affected. Pleased to see some of our team volunteering with Community TechAid recently! Community TechAid work to provide the community with the three fundamentals of digital inclusion: access to technology, connectivity and the knowledge and skills to access the online world. The charity gathers donated laptops, tablets and smartphones, wipe and refurbish the items, and return them to use by giving them to those in need. As well as working to tackle digital exclusion, the initiative helps to divert e-waste from landfill.
