Gardening champions!
On 27th June and the 9th July a team from RS Components volunteered at the hospice to undertake some work in the Lakelands hospice grounds. They painted garden furniture and tubs, weeded and jet washed paths, cleared borders, and tamed some of our overgrown shrubs. They worked well together and are obviously a small close-knit team, with lots of banter and good humour. They have made such a positive impact and a noticeable difference in the hospice grounds. We would like to thank Sarah, Michelle, Elizabeth, Ashley, Ritun, Sagar, Savannah, Edward, Scott, Umair and Joanne for their great work ethic, enthusiasm, and hard work through-out the day, with special thanks to Liz Harris for organising the June team.
With special thanks to Louise Howarth for organising the July team and providing some lovely bright plants, and to Nathan at @Bailey’s skips for his generosity and ongoing support providing skips for our garden waste.
The hospice grounds are enjoyed by our patients, volunteers and staff who all appreciate the hard work that goes into keeping the grounds well maintained and beautiful. Our small team of gardeners are grateful for any additional help, and we can all acknowledge what can be achieved when a team of like-minded people get together in the hospice grounds and work their magic.
